As expected, the PP is totally one dimensional without Stamkos. Hedman can't hit the net. The only scoring threats are Point and an occasional Kuch one timer. Too predictable and easy to shut down.

Might not be possible. He might still owe some dues on the third line.

Felt like the 2nd line was a lot more aggressive with Geekie on it, even if he didn't directly contribute to every goal. His speed noticeably makes that line quicker at pushing the pace. Paul taking faceoffs on the third line was also a positive outcome.

Having said that, Paul did swap back to the 2nd line in the third period. I like the flip-flopping and it gives us flexibility.

I see hints of a DeBrusk in Geekie. Lets see him generate more confidence and develop..

i think the #1 need right now is a strong two-way forward for the bottom 6, whether thats someone like Groshev/Goncalves/Duke, or a free agent we can get for league minimum. Geekie should stay in the top 6 with Hagel and Cirelli as they can carry him defensively and as Engblom said last night, playing with them will teach Geekie to move his feet faster and move things quicker

Geekie can always have a few games in the press box like Stamkos did. Take it in and process it that way

Goncalves hasn't played in a couple of weeks due to injury so maybe he is healthy enough to come back. You would think they would want him to get a few AHL games in first but maybe they were giving Sheary a couple of weeks to show something and he didn't. Brown is still out and Fortier too so would think Goncalves but Groshev had a good preseason so might be the call up. Duke needs more time in the AHL and really wouldn't be any use to bring him up to play 8-10 minutes in the bottom 6.
