Also rocking a cool league-best +50 goal differential and the lowest team GA in the AHL.

The D is really good so it's no surprise

MacDonald, Ahcan, Rosen, and Ludvig have all been NHL players and three of those guys could/would be #6-7 guys on worse teams. Then there's Aamodt who's been an absolute beast defensively, and should have gotten a few games in this year
Stephens has been good too on an AHL deal

It's crazy to imagine how much better they could be if Behrens didn't die and Middelton was a regular for them

Goalie stats have been pretty good, too. Surely helped by the defense in front of them, but the three main goalies used this year all have sub 3.00 GAA and .900+ SV%. And that's without having a single legit NHL prospect among them.

He still has to serve his suspension before he can play in the NHL again. That would mean calling him up and making him sit for 2 games, which I don't think the Avs are likely to do anytime soon as they try to save every penny on cap space.

It would suck for that hit to mean the end of his NHL career. He got too excited and finished the wrong hit trying to amp up his team. Now he's stuck waiting to serve the two games, and who knows when, or if, that will become a priority for the Avs.

He skated across the ice full speed and knocked a guy out through the f***ing head.

Then he got in a fight.

Then he got suspended.

His career under Jared Bednar is 100% over. Can’t have that type of intensity and physicality.

Joking aside, he landed a really big stand-up hit earlier that game that really pumped up the crowd and the team, leading to a rally in a game where they were not playing well. I think that hyped him up and made him chase another hit too much, which is very understandable for a rookie trying to make a good impression. It was the wrong hit to chase and a bad hit to make, but I don't think it's a given that Bednar has blacklisted him forever based on that.

He got sent down before serving his suspension because the Avs desperately needed warm bodies at the time and they were trying to save cap space, so they needed somebody else up with the big club just to ice a full roster. Understandable, because it's not worth compromising your daily cap hit for a fringe prospect, but still, I think he could earn another shot someday.

Watching the Eagles today and I'm treated to two fat f***s newlyweds dancing at center ice during the intermission. Wow.
