This is another one of the myriad reasons that a Schenn trade makes no sense and I don’t believe any of the rumblings about him. It makes little sense for the Blues to trade him unless we’re talking about some killer return and that isn’t happening.This and the fact if we move a vet or two at the deadline or in the offseason, we will have to replace their production as well before we get to a point of net benefit to the team.
Example: if Schenn is traded but Dvorsky makes the team out of camp (as we expect him to), and Dvorsky has around 32 pts by this time next season, Our overall team could be in a very similar spot in the playoff race, as we just replaced one (aging) player for another (rookie).
