Agree, that would be a terrible idea. I guess now that some fans have decided in their own mind that Faulk "sucks" they're willing to take on a worse contract in Trouba to get rid of him. Was nice seeing Trouba get stripped of the puck and look foolish on the Kyrou goal last night though.
Only a homer would think that Trouba’s contract that takes him to age 32 is worse than Faulk’s that takes him to 35, so that checks out.

But yeah, other posters are right that Trouba won’t want to come to this team since, you know, we are really bad and Faulk looks foolish consistently in the d-zone.

Of course The Fourth Period brings up a are looking for either a middle 6 center or a scoring winger. Like I would hope so
It's not even reporting though. It's not that they heard it from sources. They are just speculating because we are near bottom in scoring and fired our coach. Army is likely looking to improve, but I would be surprised if he thinks winger is a priority.

I agree this isn't an actual report just someone's speculation. I wouldn't be surprised if he was looking at wingers as well though at all, this team needs help in the top 6 period, sure C is probably the higher priority but as of this moment we have 2 legit proven top 6 wingers and that's it, Neighbours/Bolduc could get there eventually but not really seeing it as of yet, Snuggerud is on the horizon but also a complete unknown. If there is a legit top 6 winger that fits in age wise with our core group going forward I wouldn't be shocked at all to see Army take a swing at it.

I'd be a bit surprised to spend big assets on a wing. I think Army has a lot off faith in Snuggy and Neigbours. I don't see him blocking them. It would have to be a great deal, buying low on someone or maybe doubling up our winger prospects for someone more established. But I don't see him trading our 1st+ for another Snugerud level wing prospect or established 2nd line wing

Plus Schenn should be on wing as well

Here's the relevant section. I think it's more loose speculation driven by the fact that our offense hasn't been good. Pagnotta either confirms or guesses that Army is looking, we should assume he is, but I do think what he's looking for is dependent on how he sees Dvorksy and Snuggerud factoring into this season and next. Is Army accepting the fact that we should limp best we can to the trade deadline, trim some fat, and then give those guys a chance down the stretch to see if they are ready for next season or if he has to find a stop-gap option in the summer.

I think a safe target that he'll have is a 2nd/3rd line center. I don't think he'll spend crazy, maybe someone that could play a #2 role now, but is more of an ideal #3. Someone that can slot behind Dvorsky if Dvorsky is earning it, but also someone that is good enough to push Schenn to wing permanently.
“If you get to Game 30 and Game 35 and you’re still struggling offensively, I think you have to look some other options. Maybe down the middle, maybe a 2-3 center or scoring winger, as well,” Bernstein said.

“If they’re that aggressive with the coach, where you fired a coach after 22 games, you’ve got to be that aggressive with your roster.”

Blues GM Doug Armstrong is not afraid to make bold moves, be it on or off the ice. The Blues have just under $5.5 million in current salary cap space, as per PuckPedia, giving them some flexibility to add to their roster now if the right deal falls into place.

“I think they are looking. Army is looking to add some offence to this group,” Pagnotta said. “They’re willing to make moves. They have been riddled a little bit with injuries on the backend, as well. But (at the time of taping) they’re 30th in the National Hockey League in goals-for per game. And Doug Armstrong and Alex Steen want to address that at some point.”

I get the logic but I'm not seeing a realistic target that will be a big enough difference maker that won't cost us Dvorsky, Snuggerud, Bolduc or next year's first. Maybe they'll make a move once we see if we're actually playoff contenders and other teams drop out of the race. Seems there are few sellers now and anyone worth getting won't come cheap.

I don't think we are targeting anyone of that quality. I'm thinking more of someone like Bozak from 2018-2020. I think it's more likely, Schenn just continues to fill that role until Dvorsky is ready.
