UNB beat them in their first meeting.Interesting note. STFX is a combined 5-0 this season against the Huskies and the Reds.
I’ve got to say despite being at that game I had entirely forgot UNB had a win against X.UNB beat them in their first meeting.
Very strange scheduling for SMU. I assume there is a reason as this forces them to make two trips to NB this week.A weird twist to the schedule. SMU is at UdeM on Wed and at UNB on Sat, while ACA is UNB/UdeM on the "normal" Fri/Sat.
Timbit should know if something is happening at JLL on Friday.Very strange scheduling for SMU. I assume there is a reason as this forces them to make two trips to NB this week.
As an aside, if SMU was making two trips anyways, it’s too bad the UNB game wasn’t scheduled for Sunday afternoon instead. The Fredericton Santa Clause parade is Saturday at 5PM so I can’t see the attendance being great. Any of us with kids know hockey isn’t taking priority over the big man lol.
I watched a few clips this morning on Xwitter and while I don't want to knock the Play-by-Play guy, his delivery was not very good.
I was at the DAL-UPEI game last night. It started out to be a decent game between 2 "similarly" matched teams. Down 1-0 after 1, DAL made a turnover at their blue line resulting in a UPEI goal. DAL scored their lone goal off a UPEI turnover and then proceeded to give up 2 SH goals off of turnovers.
If not for the mistakes, DAL played a good game.
There was a female ref in the game and she did a very good job.

I'm off to the Valley Wed night with some of the Hot Stove Lounge crew to watch SMU-ACA.
I figured as much, but didn't bother to research.Shauna Neary...who is also hired as a referee in the PWHL
Well I habe noticed post-COVID that the AUS is not as strong as it was before. Take out UNB and it is not better than the OUA EastMen's Hockey rankings with 5 CW teams and 3 Quebec teams. I'm old enough to remember when there were 3 AUS teams on the list
That's when we humans were involved in the rankings.Men's Hockey rankings with 5 CW teams and 3 Quebec teams. I'm old enough to remember when there were 3 AUS teams on the list
I think the problem with the AUS the last few years is there hasn’t been a clear-cut number two team. The middle five teams are all close enough that they all beat up on one another…no one has been able to separate themselves from that pack. The only team besides UNB to crack 20 wins in the last five seasons was SMU in 2022-23.
I agree. I doesn't matter where you're ranked, you still have to win games on the ice.Not sure if that actually qualifies as a problem...makes for a lot of good hockey
Computer generated national rankings get no eyeball time from me. Action on the ice does get eyeball time.
Absolutely agree…maybe “problem” wasn’t the correct term. Perhaps I should’ve said I think that kind of parity is the reason the AUS hasn’t typically had more than one-to-two teams ranked in recent yearsNot sure if that actually qualifies as a problem...makes for a lot of good hockey
