2024/2025 Around the League

Coming to post the same. You think 4giev sucks?

I know their roster is pretty shitty, but how long is Seattle going to bang their head against a wall with Bylsma? Bizarre hire in the first place...
The man was insanely successful with their AHL affiliate. Not a bizarre hire at all. Now Hakstol, THAT was a bizarre hire.

Reportedly Francis was chomping at the bit to whisk away Rod the Bod until he re-upped in Carolina, so he went with Bylsma instead.

I think others have predicted it, Ken Holland will eventually take over in Seattle and when he does, he’s going to do everything possible to get Jon Cooper.

Ken Holland?!

You mean Jason Botterill. The plan is Francis moving to president of hockey operations and Botteril from assistant GM to GM.

Same as the Sakic/CMac situation in Colorado.

This is exactly what I hate about Torts. Players clearly went after Cutter and Torts says it's media fabricated BS and blames journalists, as usual.

It's fine to say that you wish the crowd was like this for meaningful stuff instead of hating a kid but it's not fine to blame media for everything. Your players didn't go after Gauthier to please the media, f*** off Torts.
I don't believe for one second Torts asked his players to go after Gauthier. The players probably did that on their own. To them, this is someone who was public about not wanting to be their teammate. They probably took that to heart and wanted their own form of retribution against him.

I genuinely do not believe Torts gives a f*** about that kid. And he's right about the media. It's not Torts who brings this stuff up on his own. The media asks him about a player on a different team, why should he care? He has 23 guys on his own team to worry about. The media played it all up (along with Gauthier doing his part).

Oh good, I thought them getting Holland would steer them in the wrong direction but keeping Franchise around AND getting Botterill will really f*** things up for them.

Torts is actually a master manipulator of the media. One of the things he does that I've appreciated is when he knows the team is struggling, knows they are trying, knows they are outskilled too boot. The media will start out trying to assign blame to a player and he'll just go off and at the end everyone is talking about Torts and not his players. He knows how to, and frequently does, take pressure of his players from the media.

It's probably a good thing, because he brings enough pressure on his own.
