Todd McLellan is the king of trap, slog, clog up everything hockey.
I'm sure Patrick Kane and Lucas Raymond are going to LOVE playing for this dork.
There's a reason he can't win it all.
Is he? I don't remember the Sharks team playing like that.

I agree. He will get too much time.Yeah it's getting hot in that seat, but it will have to get hotter for them to fire him. He's to that organization as Sakic is to the Avs.
I think the only way we see Roy with a roster he's happy with is if he's the one picking the roster.
Yeah, Islanders is a bad fit for Roy IMO. That team has been BLAH for years. I think he needs more emotions to thrive as a coach. There's just no hype or energy. That or he's going to have to be the one to go through a rebuild as a coach, and have heavy say in how a team is built.
This is one of the shittiest rebuilds I've seen. It's one thing for Ottawa and Buffalo to not be able to get back on track, but Detroit went full Columbus Blue Jackets with their rebuild, and it's a guaranteed failure.Sorry, Stevie, but that "core of young players" just isn't very good.
They've got a good winger in Raymond and two good defensemen in Seider and Edvinsson.
Beyond that? You've got a f*** ton of vets and useless young players, pal.
Gotta wonder how much pressure came from ownership to get them into the playoffs ASAP rather than tear it down to the gills and rebuild properly."We try to expedite this thing"
Yes, for 3 years now. That's why your team sucks and you don't have enough good young players in the system.
I agree. He will get too much time.
BUT they are a mess. I never understood the Kane and Compher signings. Their team wasn't ready to compete.
His master plan seems ****

Everyone knew that team was on the down swing when he took that job. Who knows, maybe he knew it, and it's factored in, but it's hard to imagine him dealing with losing that much, and not many coaches survive the fire of rebuilding.
I was a little sad when that ended up being the team he came back with tbh.
The difference being Sakic did a good job improving the team year over year until they won a cup.Yeah it's getting hot in that seat, but it will have to get hotter for them to fire him. He's to that organization as Sakic is to the Avs.
Well, let's be clear, there were some setbacks. Some HUGE setbacks, notably from 2014 until 2017 they mostly went in the wrong direction. Some of that may have been on Roy but it was also on Sakic for sure. The difference being Sakic did a good job improving the team year over year until they won a cup.
IMO it was obvious Sakic and Roy were on different page. With that said I would like to see Roy with a roster he likes to see how he does with it but I am not convinced yet it would be successful.Well, let's be clear, there were some setbacks. I personally don't lay any of that failure on Roy, that Isles roster is old, slow, and not very good. The guy whose seat should be red, flaming hot is Lamoriello's.
I'm still very skeptical as to whether or not Paddy is a legit NHL coach but I don't think anyone could turn that ramshackle lineup into a winner.
I think Ken Hitchcock is another.Don't believe Jon Cooper or Bob Hartley played hockey
Tough times on the island.
Oh that's a given for the big boi lolI think Ken Hitchcock is another.
He probably didn't get offers he wanted. Then decided to **** it. I hope he can turn it around, because I like Roy a lot. He makes the league more interesting just by presence.

The fact that DeBrincat was in a real cozy situation with Ottawa on the rise and forced his way to Detroit only to land with an incredibly old roster that has Andrew Copp and J.T Compher fighting over who the worse center for the 2nd line is warms my heart.Debrincat-Copp-Kane seems like a line that would've been interesting 8-10 years ago (though Alex would be like 18).
