Woah. At first he was maybe injured, then he was benched in the latest game vs Nashville, now he's out?

I don't know who the f*** Rich Keefe is, but I'm posting it because of Joe Sacco
Whoa...they're gonna start the games on time now!!!!

Seriously, I always found it odd that Sacco never even got a sniff at another NHL HC gig. I personally don't think he's good, but far worse bench bosses than him have been hired since he was turfed in Colorado.

He has been behind that Boston bench for a long time, and they have been good.

But I have a feeling they would be calling for coach Q.

That really sucks for Ovi. He was having a really unbelievable season for a guy his age. It wasn't even a really dirty play, it just looked like a collision where neither player saw it coming.

Don Sweeney is an absolutely atrocious General Manager who lucked into one of the best situations possible. He was handed a core of talent that somehow, miraculously, did not age. Chara, Bergeron, and Marchand all remained elite players well into their thirties. Marchand continues to baffle me since he actually seemed to get better into his thirties, at a time when smaller, more physical players like that completely fall apart (Ryan Callahan, Brendan Gallagher, etc.). It covered up a TON of mistakes he made, the biggest one possibly in his first draft which even the Bruins admitted they simply weren't ready for. I suppose he deserves credit for putting together the league's best goaltending tandem but I still think that was waaaay more lucky than it was savvy.

Fact remains he had that elite core and did absolutely f*** all to build around it.

Now they're finally exposed and they decided to throttle their Adams-winning head coach (which, y'know...I have thoughts about but won't repeat them here). Predictable, but probably the only move they had outside of a major roster shakeup.

At this point if Boston has half a brain they'd send both Sweeney and Seabass packing. But they probably don't and frankly I'd be fine with them continuing to spin their wheels...outside of the fact that I have Swayman in one of my fantasy leagues.

You're a year late with this since Marchand took a major step back this season. He had several surgeries last summer IIRC.

You have seen it translate into two suspensions and entries into the Players Assistance Program though.
The "addicted to painkillers because of a shoulder injury" kind of translation?

Very true, Father Time might finally be catching up to him. I imagine his workload also went waaaaaay up with both Bergeron and Krejci departing the exact same time, and that's also played a part.

Yep.
