One day you'll have to explain why you hate Risto, Myers, Edmundson and Gudbranson this much.
Simple: They’re objectively terrible defensemen who continually get overvalued (and overpaid) because they happen to be big guys.

You can throw Lyubushkin on that list too.

Myers in particular draws my ire because he’s 6’8” and plays like he’s 5’10”. I’ve literally never seen a player in any sport with so much leverage who has no idea how to actually use it.

Edmundson isn't a terrible dman, he's been a low profile, effective stay at home D for a decade. Also reliable in the playoffs.

Risto is/was overevaluated because he had offense at one point, not because he's big. He's all over the place.

Myers had a good rookie year and since then he's been pretty bad (from the outside) but the Canucks re-upped him so he must do something good.

Gudbranson is overpaid (thanks Jarmo) and was drafted too early but he's also fine for what he brings.

None of these guys deserve any attention IMO.

Wyatt Arndt doesn’t call him “Chaos Giraffe” for nothing. He hasn’t pulled anything goofy for a while but give it time. Point is, I ain’t the only one who noticed his particularly bad play. And when he makes a bad play he makes it look awkward as all hell. At least now he’s not wildly overpaid.

Risto just plain sucks (not the one who posts here BTW). Check out his “defense” on Kucherov’s goal. Kuch doesn’t even do that much and just walks right past him.

You kinda disproved your own point there.

Boy, much as I relentlessly bitch about Calvin de Haan, Rasmus Ristolainen makes him look like top-pairing material.

Don’t worry about it. Everyone knows you relentlessly have dreams of a shirtless Patrick Kane riding a horse through a meadow.
