Nashville is also very old. Only one guy in their top 6 is under 30 (Smith and he isn't any good). They are doing a lot of rotations on defense, but their top 2 guys are over 30. Schenn is getting way more minutes than he should. They don't have young legs and are trying to play with tempo on them.
Any idea on why Trotz did this?

Nashville used youth, speed, and tenacity to go on their run last year and make the playoffs.

Then they bring in way older, slower players in UFA.

I said from July they would struggle to make the playoffs. I had them battling Utah and St. Louis for a wildcard and I honestly have them missing.

I also think Bruno is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overrated as a coach. But that's the reason why there's an "Adams Curse," because they almost never actually pick the best coach.

I wouldn't say they were especially young last year either. They only had 3 guys under 25 who played 40+. The leading guys were Forsberg, Josi, ROR,and Nyquist. All older guys. They did get older this summer though and slower. Plus the regression can hit hard where they are at.

Somewhat related, the Capwages trade-trees are cool af

I've kind of hitched my wagon to them as my source simply because at the time the change happened, they looked the most similar.

They've still got work to do though on conditions associated with contracts as their has been times where that info was missing from players. But all in all, it has given me the information I'm looking for without requiring much if any effort. What more can I ask of a free service.

I do hope they get their GM Mode thing polished up though. That was actually fun to play around with in capfriendly. Me and a buddy would basically set conditions for teams (artificially low caps) and see who could build the better roster and shit like that.

Wasn’t really sure if “Adams Curse” is really a thing or if you’re making it up and using quotations to sell it. This is what came up (in a google search):

Damn, that last verse. Kinda reminded me of Gordan Lightfoots, If you could read my mind.

"Sell it?" I don't even know what you're getting at.

It's a general notion in hockey that the Adams winner gets shitcanned not long after he gets the trophy. That doesn't really require a Google search (on a side note, Google is kinda worthless these days thanks to AI).

Anyway, part of that perception is simply the law of averages--NHL coaches get fired. A lot. But I also believe the Jack Adams Trophy discourse is one of the dumbest in hockey.

The whole "Oh they turned it around after they missed the U2 concert!" was so utterly dumb.

Pure poetry.

Well honestly, missing a U2 concert since 1990 is probably a good thing. Loved all of their music up to and through Rattle and Hum. After that though, I liked two songs on Achtung Baby and have only alternated between one or two songs, if that, that I sorta like per album.

I get the vibes of 1990s and beyond Rolling Stones when watching them now. It's like Elvis in his cape years.

So years back I mentioned that Tyler Myers was the worst player in the league, but he has actually rebounded a bit. Now, that award belongs to Ian Cole...he's just clueless in every single way with Duncan Siemens' puck skills.

Kylington gives them a run for their money.
