I don’t think we’d consider the 2027 1st or 2nd yet, although we have already traded the 2027 3rd.

I dont think they'd have much issue moving the 2027 2nd tbh given how they treat 2nds.


Also, this is one thing the Avs have IMO done really well lately is finding ways to add back some draft capital in the trades they make. I really like the idea of getting late picks back in trades, even if we move a higher pick in the deal to get help now... Getting a late pick back at least gives them more bullets in the chamber on draft day, or quite frankly sometimes those later picks are what it takes to get deals across the finish line.

For example that Parsnip deal. Yeah we moved a 3rd, but at least we got a 6th back. Or Blackwood. We moved a 2nd and 4th, but we got a 5th back. Made sure to grab a 4th in the Brannstrom deal. We got a 5th back in the Sean Walker deal, we traded a 6th for Kevin Mandolese, but got a 7th back.


If we end up keeping that Rangers pick and it ends up being ~35-40th overall, I bet we see them move down with it.

I definitely would not call Jack Hughes a perimeter player. He utilizes the perimeter, yeah, but a guy like that would not produce the points he does if he just sat on the outside and tried to snipe shots from a distance. For starters, he doesn’t have an elite shot.

I haven’t seen enough of Bedard to know anything about his game but the Blackhawks have yet to actually build around him. They’re still tanking. Why they fired Richardson and were handed another f***ing WC is beyond me.

It's funny how he had such a good thing going for him here. Playing behind the Toews-Makar pairing, facing only 25ish shots a night, etc... and still f***ing it up by letting in 5+ goals on a nightly basis

Now he's in SJ where they give up 40+ shots. I wouldn't be surprised if Fourgiev has a game where he lets in 10 goals later this season

That’s exactly how he scored goals. In fact that’s exactly how he HAD to score goals. He doesn’t possess a very good shot. He generated offense through good defense, driving play, and a high volume of shots at close range.

You literally said that he generated offense through good defense (among other things). I don't think he used his defensive skills to generate offense, especially not as a winger. He used his speed a lot, though.

He was an elite play driver in his prime. The precipitous dropoff in his game in recent years was due in part to his defense going away. It’s possible that may be linked to his skating ability declining with age, but I can’t say for sure.

Honestly that's a very weird take. Taylor Hall didn't forget how to play defensively (he was never good defensively to begin with), he got old/injured and much slower. Once you took away his speed he lost all his offense.

Some people here fear that the same thing will happen to Mack. No longer faster than everyone = no offense.
