Avs would run train on the LeafsLeafs play playoff style hockey now, they thrive in low scoring games and they could be dangerous.
This is not the Leafs from the Dubas era.

100%It is the same big 4 that have struggled and choked for 9 years in a row(7 for Tavares).
You can put lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig.
This is the best defense they’ve ever had during this core’s time and Berube coaches to win, but it comes down to your best players. These guys choke.
You’ll see. Second round exit at best.
Nothing they could do!I still think the Leafs biggest issue is that they continue to get big lumbering dman who play playoff style hockey but can't move the puck. Rielly has been the only competent puck mover they've had this era. Now they have Tanev who's great defensively and moves the puck decently, but I don't think it's a coincidence that offense becomes a major issue for the Leafs in the post season when no one can get the pucks to the forwards.
Not that my point totally absolves the big 4 of blame, but I think it's something that gets glossed over constantly.

I mean I think it's 100% part of it. I mean last year the Leafs D core was:So it’s a matter of not having the right D men to get the pucks to the forwards. They may be well constructed for the RS. But it’s about poor fit as constructed for the POs where things get much tighter.
Gonna look even more studley this summer when he replaces Brock NelsonSid is just a stud.
CBJ scored so many goals in the last week I wonder if Werenski could steal the Norris from Makar. He finished the season with 23 goals and 82 points, the gap in points with Makar isn't that big and a lot of journalists believe that he was driving CBJ offense all year.
Werenski MAYBE gets a couple of 1st place pity votes.CBJ scored so many goals in the last week I wonder if Werenski could steal the Norris from Makar. Norris was a wrap a couple of weeks after the 4 Nations. Hughes had been out for a little already, and Werenski proceed to have a brutal month of games10 point gap. Cale 30 goals. Avs a wagon and CBJ missed the playoffs.
The Norris is a wrap.
4 ex-Avs goalies among the worst goalies in the league this season.
Eh, the only difference I really see is that the goaltending is way better.Leafs play playoff style hockey now, they thrive in low scoring games and they could be dangerous.
