I don't know what happened, but there's usually a reason someone like Panarin, and his employer MSG, would accept a settlement for sexual assault.

It's usually because there's a bit more to back up the claim.

Like witnesses or cell phone data. Doesn't necessarily make it true, but usually you don't settle over just he said she said, from someone who was upset they were fired.

Canes/Devils is the least interesting series to me and that's saying something because Vegas/Minnesota seems like a snooze fest, LA/Edmonton have played a thousand years in a row, and Winnipeg/St. Louis doesn't have any real history.
Sens/Leafs
Panthers/Lightning
Stars/Avs
Oilers/Kings (McDavid factor)
Habs/Caps

I'd say those are the most exciting/entertaining series to watch in order. Oilers and Kings have the potential this year to be the most chippy series in the playoffs. This will be good for Colorado because Edmonton/Vegas will go thru war just to make it to the WCF.

What the Hell.

Avs/Dallas play game 1 on the 19th while Florida/Tampa start theirs on the 22nd. That's a 4-day spread!
I was thinking it had to be a scheduling conflict, but there's no events listed this weekend for Amalie Arena, and no conflicts in Sunrise either. Weird.

Are people really that high on Ottawa taking out the leaves? I know Toronto is gunna blow it at some point, but against the Sens?? I'm not buying that at all.

EDIT: We should probably make a dedicated 25 playoffs thread for non-series discussion.

It's hope and cope more than anything. I just really love it when the Leafs lose in the first round

Leafs could go on a run here…
Should beat the Sens.
Thinking they play Tampa round 2, they’ve beaten them recently in playoffs. Florida is a wildcard they look awful but could flip the switch, they would beat the leafs if healthy.
Then you get Washington or Carolina likely in the conference finals, neither looks too intimidating.
Think I’m picking leafs Avs or lightning Avs final

Leafs play playoff style hockey now, they thrive in low scoring games and they could be dangerous.

This is not the Leafs from the Dubas era.

But it's still the core 4, Marner cried that one year in the penalty box so that's always a worry for them if the Sens turn him into a little boy

Reminds me when Greig fired that empty net slapshot that was one of my favorite hockey moments against the Leafs
