2024 2025 Around the League Part 2

It wasn't that big in the first place. How many can you name of the top of your head? It's even rarer in soccer because of the different leagues and no drafts. Totti, Giggs, Puyol come into mind now when thinking about it.
It’s less than I thought because I’ve blocked out things like Gerrard and Busquets going to MLS so it’s really just Scholes and Neville I can think of as others who didn’t

This stings so bad knowing all we had to do was shit can Bennett and Tanguay would’ve been an easy hire.

I mean, same goes for Foote coaching with the Canucks.

I don't want Bedsy fired, but if he were, I keep having the irrational thought of bringing back Roy with Footer coaching the defense and Danny Hinote coaching the forwards.

I don't how well it would work, but it would be cool to see. Seems like Roy might be let go in NYI and Footer and Tocchet are probably done in Van.

Wasn’t Foote a development coach for us before leaving for Kelowna? We could use more Foote defensive instincts and less insistence on always trying to stick check

Bringing Tanguay home needs no explanation

Yeah, Footer was a “defensive consultant” when Roy was here. Not there everyday but brought in every few weeks.

Yeah he was for a few years when Roy came on board. EJ credited him at the time with helping him play consistently every night too.

Flames only 3 point behind the Wild and Blues with a game in hand on both. I guess they still have a chance here
Minny v Canucks
Minny v Ducks

Blues v Kraken
Blues v Utah

Flames v Sharks
Flames v Vegas
Flames v Kings

Doesn't look great for the Flames but I'll keep on cheering for em. Not sure which I'd like more, for Minny or for Blues to miss the playoffs.

If Crosby wanted to leave to have a chance to win another cup, I think it would be like with Bourque. The fans wouldn't hold it against him.

It might still come to that in a year or two.

1st round exit.

Best defenseman out, Draisaitl likely dealing with a nagging injury, Kane hasn't played all year, worst goaltenders of any playoff team, playing against the best home team in the league. This could FINALLY be the season LA beats Edmonton.
How can he even play if if doesn't understand ANY English. It's one thing to not speak English but if he doesn't even understand "10 minute misconduct" I'm not sure how they can make it work.
Typically I agree, but the Jackets have Provorov, Marchenko, and (usually) Chinakhov on the bench. I'm guessing if Voronkov's English is truly brutal at least one of those guys is translating at all times.

Totally not NHL related, but there will be the "Tvillingderbyt" between Djurgården and AIK of Stockholm to see who gets promoted to the Swedish first division. That is going to be awesome. AIK ensured their place in the finals yesterday by beating Karlskoga in 6 games. Djurgården won game 7 in overtime against Södertälje today:

The Stockholm football derbies between AIK, Djurgården and Hammarby are among some of the best matches in Europe, and it's awesome to see it in hockey again as well.

And yes, Djurgården is Landeskog's Swedish team :)
