2024 2025 Around the League Part 2

Best defenseman out, Draisaitl likely dealing with a nagging injury, Kane hasn't played all year, worst goaltenders of any playoff team, playing against the best home team in the league. This could FINALLY be the season LA beats Edmonton.
Obviously, yeah. Kuemper is a Stanley Cup winning goaltender

Yeah, I don't know what the procedure here is but one would imagine that you have to inform the coaching staff as well lol
I mean, what's to prevent the refs from just doing this bullshit and blaming language barriers at will?

Landy's english must be off, because I told him....blah, blah blah *smack*

I guess with all the expansion teams, it was only a matter of time that the 3 of these teams would suck at the same time, but it's still surprising. Especially since the Rags won the presidents trophy last year. Drury really did gut that team. I know his vision is more of a long term one, but I think he'll quickly regret that Miller trade.

Ekholm possibly out for the year, banged up McDavid and Draisaitl. Finally a year where Kings can and probably will beat the Oilers in the playoffs

Dallas is going to be somewhat rested to play us. Harley, Lindell, Ottinger all got the night off.
I don’t think fatigue will be an issue for either team. Dallas does have games til the 16th though so they’re still gonna be icing some players.

Edit: now official we play Dallas

Jets just beat the Hawks in a shootout, then lined up for hand shakes. Does anyone know why they’re shaking hands? What am I missing here

This stuff has gotten way too played out IMO.

Should be reserved for the greats. Not for 4th line scrubs like Pat Maroon.
It’s really weird because it doesn’t happen all the time. For example we had Parise last year who also announced he’d be retiring after the season, but no one did any hand shakes in any of the games, and I don’t really recall other times where that happened. Must be something new

I was going to say usually it happens during the last regular season game if that team is missing the playoffs but I don't think playoffs matter.

Teemu Selanne did his in 2014 during the final Ducks game vs the Avs but Anaheim was headed to the playoffs, so he was still playing more hockey after that.

Marc-Andre Fleury just did it vs Washington last week but he then played again vs San Jose right after.

Weird.
