2024-2025 Around The League Part 2

Man EP to CBJ would be something
Makes oodles of sense if Columbus is willing to part with what is necessary.

CBJ was trying to be competitive. They got Monahan to come play with Johnny. This team has just been through so much crap. Getting EP and having him turn it around would be wonderful for the team, the city and honestly the freaking league. The more teams start popping off and doing well, the better the league is.

As for EP, man... is there a better town to go to if you are struggling but willing to put in work. Columbus and Ohio LOVE hockey, but make no mistakes OSU football is #1, followed by the Bengles or the Browns depending on which side of the state you're from. But the entire state backs the hockey team and they really do get good attendence considering their performance over the years. Nationwide was a really nice arena when I visited three years ago. The surrounding area had tons of restaurants and pubs. Parking was a pain, but that's like saying the sun will come up in the morning.

What would Vancouver take, that CBJ is willing to part with though? They are building something but unfortunately Johnny's loss has left them woefully short on premier talent. Not sure how much young talent they are willing to part with, but they'll have to do something if they want EP.

CBJ probably the only team other than the Avs im ok with winning the cup. They have been through hell the last few seasons first with Kivlenieks and then with Johnny.

Kadri beating Trouba. Good job. Trouba has thrown his elbows too often without paying the price. Ugly ugly player.

Flames win. Only 3 points back of the Avs with 2 games in hand.

Nucks only 4 points back with 2 games in hand.

Not only that but Jets and Wild both win as well.

Wild manage to win both games on a back to back despite missing their very best player. You just know the Avs would absolutely crumble if Nate or Cale was out of the lineup.

When the salary cap rises, it generally means the market rate for certain positions rise as well.
Not just certain positions, all of them. The extra cap will spread all across the roster, not just at the top.

Extra cap doesn't mean extra space to put more stars in the lineup, it means everyone gets more so you end with relatively the same lineup. The same players make more money, that's it.

It's good for teams with long term contracts though.
