It wasn't just any regular season game. It was #5 vs #6 in the SEC, and came down to the last shot of the game. The ratings for that will be way higher than this outdoor regular season NHL game.

The optics look bad for the NHL, not for ESPN. If the NHL doesn't want that to happen, then they need to move the game to TNT, or get a better deal with ESPN that mandates the game, and pregame, be shown in its entirety.

Sucks for hockey fans, but that's the reality of where the NHL sits on the sports priority list.

If the NHL was smart they'd fkn black ball ESPN for another 10 years, and see if they change, which they won't.

Letting the organization who has always treated the NHL like a f***in drunk bridesmaid run their streaming service is just hilarious.

I had the same thought, and then he keeps him, and you hear a rumor Aho was telling people he called Mikko after management asked about him, with Mikko saying a trade was possible.

Now he's not producing, and turning down 100M offers.
