Ive only watched like 5 periods from TC so far, but thats pretty ugly hockey out there, unimpressive squad. Celebrini, Bjarnason, thats about it.
Canada is loaded with talent. Wood, Ritchie, Cristall, Martone, Howe, Catton. Lardis. Only Dragicevic on d though.

Right now I’ve got him 16th. Same range as guys like Cristall and Barlow. Depends what you’re looking for at that point but he looks like a good player to me. Passed the eye test and getting the production to match. All while wearing the C on the best team in the tourney.
Where do you have Wood?

About 93% of the fans base wanted Wright last year. At least half of them or now relieved we didnt pick him.

Slaf will be great, give it time, there is no evidence any of the top picks are better than him right now, not even Cooley.

They will pick who they think will have the biggest impact on the team down the road, if its Smith, most people will be happy, if not, there are other great players out there. Personally I have full trust in their judgement.

If it’s too early for Slaf and Cooley, it’s also too early for Wright and, while his season certainly wasn’t encouraging, Slaf’s season wasn’t either.

With that being said, I think most people will be satisfied with Slaf’s progress at the end of next year.

They are loaded of late 1st, 2nd rounders with flaws. Only player I like on the names listed is Lardis, who is on the really small side. Riley Heidt isnt bad either, otherwise thats a pretty underwhelming crop.

This whole second tier is very fluid right now and I’m hardly done my evaluations for that group. Main thing I’m thinking about now is getting a definitive top 8 for if we pick 7th and don’t have Michkov on our board.

Wood is in the mix for my top 8, personally.
