That should've been interference, you can't just hit two puckless players to create a breakaway. Doesn't matter though, USA has been better and deserves the lead. And with the tournament format it's difficult to care about the first few games

USA playing well... Finland will adjust as the tourney goes on and we will see their Olympic gameplan... they are still favorites in my eyes.

Kakko been our best forward today, forced DeSmith to make a great save on a chance where 90% of our forwards wouldn’t even had a shot on goal.

USA looks so much deadlier in the offensive zone and their skating is once again on another level compared to ours.

What is being left out so far in the thread convo so far is how desmith has made some key saves in this game.

He's been very good - that right toe save on Kakko was a momentum shifter for sure.

He kicked out some shots that if he hadn't who knows how this game could have gone, they were tough situation opportunities and he delivered the goods.

He absolutely is the first star.

USA has dominated periods 2 and 3 but it could've easily been 3-0 after one.

Best player of the game for me. When USA started slow in the first he kept them in it, and then saved the few chances he had to.

But props to USA, they we're very clearly the better team than after like the first 10 minutes, absolutely deserved win for them.
