It's a BS fake tradition. They treat it like this vaunted historic thing that's been around for decades but it only dates back to like 2000.

Also I just hate that song.

I hate that song too.

Corny song for corny people. I don’t know how sweet Caroline reached iconic/classic song status. Not catchy or bluesy or funky or compelling. Basic early 1900s repetitive melody. Basic lyrics. No drums or bass. Just your typical basic easy listening sing along for drunk people in bars. It’s not a song people enjoy listening while sober. Only when they’re wasted , just like « living on a prayer » or « don’t stop believing »

And the fact that it’s associated to the hated Red Sox makes me hate it 1000x more.

Your last sentence. lol

Swanson has been pretty bad recently. I would think about limiting his high-leverage situations if possible.
Eh, before today, that disaster against the Dodgers was the only time he allowed a run in his last 10 outings. He hasn't been dominant, but considering he's, at best, the third or fourth choice, I think the way he's being used is fine.

I like when Schneider bases bullpen decisions on matchups rather than set roles. Like the win against Baltimore... usually it would be Swanson for the 8th and Hicks for the 9th, but they used Hicks to face the middle of the lineup in the 8th and Swanson to face the weaker hitters in the 9th. In that way I think Swanson's bring used in easier spots than the leverage alone would suggest.

I always liked calling up a player who is hot in Triple A. For short burst at least. Doesn't always work out but generally they add couple wins.
