You’d think he’d know if it was stroked enough to get out
Unfortunately he just can't stop getting caught with his pants down.

Yes he has been hit pretty hard. I think they should try and give him more time between games.Swanson has been pretty bad recently. I would think about limiting his high-leverage situations if possible.
He hasn't been too bad in the 7th and 8th innings. He just sucks in the 9th.Swanson has been pretty bad recently. I would think about limiting his high-leverage situations if possible.
Why wouldn’t they use a pinch runner? They had Biggio to pinch run and Jansen on the bench to catch. Probably would have scored another run.Kirk can’t play in the playoffs
Jansen is hurt. He was scheduled to start but pulled due to injury. Why wouldn’t they use a pinch runner? They had Biggio to pinch run and Jansen on the bench to catch. Probably would have scored another run.
Jansen wasn't available. He had inflammation in his wrist. Why wouldn’t they use a pinch runner? They had Biggio to pinch run and Jansen on the bench to catch. Probably would have scored another run.
On 3rd with 1 out he’s fairly safe considering it’s August 5th. Espinal should have read it better but the fact he cannot score on that play is the issue. If Verdugo is in right it changes things, but you have to be able to score runs when they’re available. Why wouldn’t they use a pinch runner? They had Biggio to pinch run and Jansen on the bench to catch. Probably would have scored another run.
Former #1 prospects across the league. Someone tell me what sticks out:
Ronald Acuna: 5.9 fWAR, 5.6 bWAR
Shohei Ohtani: 8.0 fWAR, 8.8 bWAR
Vlad Guerrero Jr: 0.4 fWAR, 1.1 bWAR
Wander Franco: 3.9 fWAR, 4.8 bWAR
Bobby Witt Jr: 3.8 fWAR, 3.0 bWAR
SMH.
Walker and all! lolI think my 84 years old grandma would have been fine.
It sucks that our guy is the one bustingFormer #1 prospects across the league. Someone tell me what sticks out:

I don't see the sharp downward movement on his splitter anymore.....it just sort of looks like a dead fish batting practice fastball.Swanson has been pretty bad recently. I would think about limiting his high-leverage situations if possible.
I remember reading one scouting report that as a floor offensively, Prince Fielder. I would take a 140-150 wRc now.Really glad we didn’t give him a long term contract. As I said before, unless someone shows you they are a super star right off the bat for multiple years or they give you a Acuna type deal, I’m signing no one to a long term deal when you have pre-arb and arb control.
Is it a coincidence that the two guys struggling the most are the fattest on the team? Get it shape man
Vlady was not supposed to be the undisputed superstar on the team?Uh yeah? It’s not like Varsho is some uber offensive stud due to his athleticism. Plus a struggling Vladdy is still the 4th best hitter on the team
Wonder what happend?

4th best lmfao

Agreed. Imo He had a much better control/handle of his pitches when he was with the Mariners. His heater/fastball is by far the best pitch of his arsenal/repertoire. His slider and changeup are not as efficient as his fastball in both delivery, command and consistency.I don't see the sharp downward movement on his splitter anymore.....it just sort of looks like a dead fish batting practice fastball.
He should be a Middle relief pitcher in the 7th or 8th inning not your closer. Put Hicks or Mayza in the closer role for the 9thSwanson has been pretty bad recently. I would think about limiting his high-leverage situations if possible.
