well that was a great bounceback start. 6 innings, 1ER, 8K, 0BB.

Yeah its the tigers, but who cares, he was getting rocked by bad teams before too.

The biggest thing was not using the whole pitch clock every pitch. It allowed him to have better control over his delivery and made it so that runners couldn't just take 2nd.

Nice to see Monoah not absolutely suck and actually look like his old self

We actually hit the ball too

Crazy night

Manoah threw 10 balls in the first inning and didn't have the best control.

Next 5 innings, he threw 17 balls total. Certainly been a while since he threw a ton of strikes like that. Good things tend to happen when you don't issue any free passes

7 games back of the division lead. Just good to not be double digit games back. 7 seems doable. It's up to the boys in that clubhouse to do it.

There's actually a decent chance of it being 5 by Monday with Atlanta sending Strider and Elder vs Tampa, who suddenly can't score. Jays need to take care of business, of course. Another sweep would be clutch.

One big losing streak for the Rays and the Jays beating up on shitty teams. Love it.

Manoah looked maybe a little bit better than Zack Short tonight. Good team to start the comeback against though. Will be interesting to see what he can bring against a competitive team.

Some fans shit on Shatkins but the team made the playoffs in 2016 and then made them again in 2020 after a rebuild. In baseball, that’s tough to do because rebuilds can take a long time and can fail quite easily.
Yeah i agree our quick turnaround was amazing considering how painful the sell off was. the limited pieces we were able to acquire for the aging core the whole management group has done wonders compared to the group of teams who continued to be bottom 10 the last few years where we have been fighting for playoff spots

Good for Manoah. seeing his career flashing before his eyes must have been scared the living shit out of him. we alll know that pressure quote of his from last season, but my guess is he knows what pressure feels like now and maybe can deal with it a bit better.

Also shout out to management and coaching who so far have handled this comeback pretty perfectly and quickly. Hopefully the success continues after the all star break.

Manoah had 2 related issues before the demotion. He had to start his delivery before he was ready and his delivery start was predictable both because of how far he ran the clock down.

Thinking of Manoah, I'd love to see the Jays start manipulating a little. With a runner on and a tired pitcher, maybe intentionally risk a ball to see if you can catch a runner getting antsy.
