At the start of May Brandon Belt was hitting .164 and now he's up to .250

It's almost like we're early enough in the season that a couple of weeks of hot/cold streaking can have dramatic, swingy impacts on a player's stats. Imagine that
Wow you can't even say not good without someone getting defensive. Players go on streaks in baseball no way

You change a couple players, get ride of the homerun Jacket and now this team doesn't have the same offense anymore. Good thing they wanted to clean up the outfield to prevent more runs scored, but you need to still outscore your opponent to win. Everyone at the beginning of the season was talking about how deep this lineup is this year, well doesn't look deep enough.

I knew it wasn’t deep. Only the most optimistic person would be ok with a version of Belt, Varsho, Biggio/Espinal, Kirk/Jansen as your bottom four hitters. None of these guys can hit their weight. When you add in the trouble with an ageing Springer then the offensive struggles are not surprising.

Yeah it was a little over exaggerated to begin the season imo, maybe more speed but not deep. I've tried to give Biggio the benefit of the doubt, but the guy can't hit consistent enough, he's got to go, Espinal I don't mind as a utility guy. Kirk is better then Jansen, Springer is beat up and the injuries he's had are catching up to him, still decent player but not what he used to be, they need a new leadoff guy.

Biggio is pretty much useless. He has no power anymore. He's not great defensively. He's not super fast for baserunning purposes. I'm not sure why we still have him on the 26 man roster when he doesn't contribute towards a winning team.

most bench players aren't that great but a good bench has players that are good at doing one or two things. Our bench doesn't really provide power or speed or anything for that matter.

No, it's pointing out the flaw in your criticism. Merrifield hasn't been as great lately as he was to start the season, but quoting the change in his batting average makes it look worse than it is because we're early enough that a couple of weeks of strong/weak play can make a MASSIVE difference in the numbers.

In May he has only 6 games where he has been hitless. The big difference is that he's gone from getting multiple hits a game to mostly going 1 for 3 or 4 which is still OK for a bottom of the order bat.

It's not like he's gone from hitting .300 to being hitless more often than not.

I'm just getting tired of a week of crap play from the team bringing out a bunch of terrible takes and bad faith arguments because they're frustrated.

No it's being a clown, and trying to be a smart ass because you can't handle some criticism and think everyone should be only here to praise people. I've seen you do this with others hence why I'm speaking my mind about it to you this time.

He's struggling deal with it, I'm not here saying he's got to go because he's a trash player, or he's useless, he needs to be better and be consistent. I get players have hot and cold streaks I don't need baseball 101 from someone who thinks they know more then others.

When's the last time Jays were in a world series? 30 years ago, but no fans aren't allowed to be passionate and want their players to be better so they can get there again.

Jansen is trash, but I'm sure you'll ignore that as well because he had a couple walk off hits.

Heck when I was questioning Varsho needing to be better early in the season and needing to be lower in the lineup, people couldn't even handle that criticism here, what was their excuse it's early in the season still no need to worry and he's hitting the ball hard just getting unlucky, there's always an excuse here it seems.
