Analytics in this case fails to take into account how well Berrios was throwing.
Yep...I loved math in high school...Took 3 maths courses in grade 13 (yes I'm old)...I understand analytics and think they have a place in sports...But... if you're going to go close to 100% with analytics you might as well have a computer managing/coaching pro sports... The human element is and always will be, a huge factor in the game(s)

I don't understand how you take out a pitcher who is dealing with a low pitch count to replace him with a cold pitcher and hope, at best, he matches the performance of the pitcher you removed?

Schneider will take the blame. But this is all Shapiro and Atkins. But they are too cowardly to ever step up and take the blame. Did the same thing last year if I remember correctly.
They should all be fired right after the game regardless, and not allowed to fly back to Toronto and pack their stuff.

And the thing is that it isn't like this is July Kikuchi when he was throwing great.

He was shit in September - velo down, walks up, HRs up.

It's almost certainly not just Schneider overruling everyone in the organization the way it's getting portrayed here.

It's some sort of decision made between Schneider/Mattingly/Walker/management/analytics department. And it's dumb as f*** and probably cost the team the season.
than fire them all.
