He should be doing SOMETHING.

Fire the hitting coach.

Trade for Candelario, who has a .900+ OPS since being traded to the Cubs.

Going back to the last thread :

You keep bringing up Candelario as if he was some sort of legitimate option here.

Candelario can basically only play 3B/DH (and maybe a tiny bit of first) and while he's a switch-hitter he's primarily a LH bat when you look at his platoon splits. And no matter how frustrated you are with Matt Chapman's August, there is a 0% chance they were replacing him at 3B or taking his glove out of the lineup - guy was on pace for a 6-7 WAR season on August 1. Which basically means you're acquiring a DH to play primarily against RHP ... and all that does is take away ABs from Brandon Belt who has been an even better hitter than Candelario this year.

As others have said, there was basically nothing available in terms of quality bats that would actually fit into this team's lineup in any way that would have made a meaningful difference.

It’s nice that Schneider had a good game but he was 2-17 with 11 Ks since the Boston series and had been mostly getting blown away by velocity.

This should get him back in the lineup tomorrow but when you’re a young player you have to keep earning your playing time.
He sucked in the Cleveland series along with the rest of the team. No need to leave him rotting for so long

He's done that a couple times this season, had a good 2-3 games and then went back to mediocrity hitting singles.

At least he gets the monkey off his and the team's back for not having a 20HR hitter before August is finished.
With his skill set, he can go on a run.

The jays broadcast goes out of their way to talk about kikuchi not giving up a home run since the all star break. Before the game even started I knew he was doomed.

He’s really bad. These misses aren’t close.
Agreed. It’s not like his catching the edges. It’s clear in the zone

Buck has to call it a day after this year. He constantly screws shit up and the voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard. He talks over Shulman and doesn’t know when to stfu. I know he had cancer, but he sounds like a duck. Not sure if that was the chemo or what but he sounds like a cartoon character. He’s a good dude but it’s time.

No good bats were available even though they badly needed one, but it would be nice if Vlad catches fire. Springer is a shell of himself. Lotta hard miles on Georgey. Maybe Kirk will take his fitness seriously one of these years.

Everyone knows I'm pretty pro-umpire but man Shane is having a tough day on that corner. Like everywhere else around the zone has been fine. Just that corner is brutal.

That is the proper mechanic for umpires. It's exactly why the plate umpire goes up the line too.

Plate umpire goes up the line and looks for two thinks a tag and foot off the base. If he sees it he overrules immediately and does not wait for a crew consultation

Disagree with the actual call if you want but
it's exactly how the teach it.

Granted I'm watching CLE broadcast but I couldn't see, for the life of me, any replay angle where the tag was applied.
