Could they even afford him at this point?
Bert impressed me with his creativity and passing "much like Cehlarik" what didn't impress me was his was his no look passes, dumb dumb turn overs, and poor skating "much like Cehlarik".Cool. Cool. Let Bambi get signed by the Leafs too!
His back, hips, and knees would disagree with you
Sounds like a guy they should at least sign to a minor league deal and see how he develops, could be sneaky good signing.Speed is definitely Halaburda's calling card, but his two-way game is what might ultimately get him to the NHL one day. His hockey IQ is exceptional away from the puck, and that combined with his work ethic and motor could make him a very effective bottom-six player in the future.
“He is not only one of Vancouver’s fastest skaters, but also one of its hardest workers, and his motor never stops. Always around the puck, he is a pest for opposing puck carriers, often forcing turnovers with his speed and tenacity. In the offensive zone he has a nose for the slot, working his way into the tough area of the ice with and without the puck. The area of concern for Halaburda is his shooting and offensive consistency.” – Adam Tate, McKeen’s Hockey

Speed? Ty Halaburda has it in spades. He impressed with the Vancouver Giants and could be an underrated pickup at the 2023 NHL Draft.thehockeywriters.com
Interesting Habitants didn't add him to the Prospects Challenge in Buffalo.Rousseau was very good for Quebec last season, adding him to the mix of goalie prospects is a good thing, along with Bussi, Keyser, Dyck and Svedback they have some quality young goalie prospects.
It is the centennial after allAt this rate I'll guess Joe Thornton
Played for Montreal, traded to the North Starts, and yes, then the Rags. The Stars had one entire line of ex-Habs (Danny Grant, Jude Drouin, and Rousseau), and another line of ex-Broons: J-P Parise (father of Zack), Tommy Williams, and Bill Goldsworthy (sadly all 3 are deceased)."Hearing goalie William Rousseau invited to Bruins rookie camp. Undrafted 20-year-old backstopped Quebec Remparts to Memorial Cup last season. Grandson of longtime NHLer Bobby Rousseau"
When we played the Rangers for the Cup in 72, me and my brothers nicknamed Bobby Rousseau the "Great Gazoo"

Admittedly, I did drop in Ty's tweet with a bit of mischievousness, because as some of the comments on TwitterX pointed out, Heinen had more games played over the last 2 seasons vs Bertuzzi. But I think he also had less TOI per game in general. Interesting, nonetheless. If he proves himself to be a better bottom-6 option than some others at camp, then so be it.Bert impressed me with his creativity and passing "much like Cehlarik" what didn't impress me was his was his no look passes, dumb dumb turn overs, and poor skating "much like Cehlarik".
Heinen could turn out to be an awesome find..more so than a 1 dimensional JVR. The TY Anderson comments are intriguing.
What I hope is Heinen makes the team and turns Fenian into a fan.
Would any other team even consider a waiver claim on Brown?
And the Stars had Barry Gibbs on D traded to Stars with Tom Williams. B's drafted Gibbs 1st overall in 1966 just in front of some guy by the name of Park. He later got traded to the Blues from Atlanta for Dicky Redmond, and we ended up with both.Played for Montreal, traded to the North Starts, and yes, then the Rags. Straining my memory this morning, but it's good brain exercise.
Ah, yes, Barry Gibbs. He was later quite successful on a line with his brothers Maurice and Robin. Younger brother Andy was in and out of the line-up, but later found his stride. And the Stars had Barry Gibbs on D traded to Stars with Tom Williams. Yes I thought the same thing also and Roy was his coach, oh well could be a good signing for the Bruins.Interesting Habitants didn't add him to the Prospects Challenge in Buffalo.
So Danton is going to completely change his game, play with grit and determination, play physical, hit along the boards and stand up for his teammates and himself? Sign me up for the new Danton Heinen, the old one can go play for the Laval Rocket, no wait, I like Laval and that isn't fair to them. Let's put him in the LNAH, not as tough as it used to be but would be fun seeing him try to survive there. I hear St. Georges is lovely in January.Bert impressed me with his creativity and passing "much like Cehlarik" what didn't impress me was his was his no look passes, dumb dumb turn overs, and poor skating "much like Cehlarik".

I'm just thankful that we now have a training camp thread after all the fluff threads that happen in the off-season.this camp is exciting. Look at how much we have to talk about. By the time camp starts we will have 900 posts about Danton Heinen
