Yeah, as I said, the only possibilities to get a new coach are either Fischer resigning himself or the players demanding a new one.

But I just hope they extend the contract before next WC.

Are you sure you phrased that right? But yeah I can already sea the possible future scenario: Fischer actually wins next years quarters but looses in the semis and doesn't win a medal. This will be enough to get him a juicy new contract and enables him to waste the remaining prime years of our golden generation. I don't really see the players starting a mutiny. As you said he is very popular and they are probably more likely to put most the blame on themselves.

I think that Fischer will go.

They will ask him to leave.
As usually, ... Swiss are not drama prone ... so nothing is decided when warm.
But he had at his disposal a good team ... and for the Xth time ... we went nowhere.

A good coach , at this level , is able to make the team better than the sum of the parts.

At the time, Kruger did it.
Fischer did it some years ago. but now, for some years not anymore.
I trust the federation to take the right decision.
