Makes no sense, their WR depth is terrible
Don't know how the timing works, but when can players officially be put on in-season IR?

I could see this being roster gymnastics if the awarding of claims happens before in-season IR starts, so the Colts need to free up a roster spot for a few hours before they can put whomever they need to on IR and re-sign McKenzie.

Nice, hopefully he can get up to speed in a few weeks, you cant just plug n play him week 1 expecting him to wear the green dot and have all the calls down.

Will be curious what QB they get on the practice squad. Both Pats guys cleared waivers and I think Cunningham would be intriguing. Will Grier is already snatched up by the Bengals for their practice squad. (If you guys think our backup situation is bad...the Bengals have Jake Browning as their only rostered backup to Burrow. I'll take Kyle Allen over Browning for sure.)

Don’t mind me as I toot my own horn a bit. Pace is a guy I loved as a day 3 dart throw and talked up a lot, and then looked silly when he went undrafted. Whelp, apparently he’s wearing the green dot, has looked amazing, and is expected to start at MLB for the Vikings. Sure would take him over Dodson right about now.
Yeah nice job. I didn’t think Pace had the lateral agility to play inside, so kudos to you.

Kirksey on the practice squad is a coup. You'd think he could find a 53 man roster spot somewhere...
No. As posted above by myself & others... Take the name recognition away & a practice squad is where he pretty much belongs at this point.

If he winds up playing meaningful snaps, it probably means we're in trouble...

He may not be good enough to rely on him as a starter, and I suppose a backup LB who isn't a core special teamer may be harder to swing, but given the state of some of the teams in this league I still find it hard that some team somewhere wouldn't make a spot for him, even if it was just for veteran leadership. Just probably not at whatever dollar amount Houston was giving him before.

Given everything that goes into playing MLB, calling plays, and having the green dot, it is not surprising to me that he might view the Bills PS as the best spot for him.

If he learns the defense quickly, he could be on the 53 man roster by the time they head to London.

Praise be

Didn’t realize McKenzie got cut. Wild love to bring him back on the PS. Incredible locker room guy, loves Buffalo, knows the offense and could easily start in a pinch, and has return ability.

I love McKenzie the person, but this isn't the same offense that he was a part of when Daboll was here, and he doesn't have the reliability that's expected of players fielding kick returns. (It's probably what cost Isabella, honestly.) It's not worth revisiting.

Curious that Tre or Milano aren't part of that group. I'm not going to read anything into it. Just curious is all.

C'mon Bills. Micah, not Michah. Proofread your work people!

Same...bringing McKenzie back as a trainer or special teams coordinator would be great. I don't want him on the field anymore but he's a fantastic person and having him around the team would be nothing but good vibes.

The bolded says more about the state of the Bills MLB depth than anything else...

IIRC even in his prime playing for Cleveland he wasn't the all-rounder 'defensive QB' who excelled in coverage. I'm not hopeful for a second that he's suddenly going to come in & lead this defence...

Love to see Davis getting a letter. He's someone I'm really hopeful they can somehow keep around - although the cap crunch will make that tricky.

I don't think McKenzie is close to being done as a player. I'm pretty sure that he will get am opportunity to play somewhere.

Although it shouldn't be in Buffalo. I think they're set with the 6 on the roster, plus having a guy with similar skillet in Isabella already on the PS.

It is pretty telling how all these important WRs for Buffalos offense leave the team and drift into obscurity. I don't think it is a coincidence. Josh Allen makes the WRs who play with him significantly better. Even Diggs went from being an above average WR to elite.

It is pretty cool to have that guy at QB...

I definitely hope he gets an opportunity with some other team that doesn't play us.

He had 40 catches last season and played over 500 snaps. He certainly knows the offense. Moreover, he's beloved in the locker room and has talked before about wanting to be here. I really can't think of any reason not to have him on the PS as an emergency injury callup. Just because he was disappointing as an injury call up doesn't mean he can't be valuable depth. Heck, against specific man-heavy teams he can probably even still be a weapon to be deployed.

4 WRs on the PS, including Isabella, Shavers, and Ateman.

Also, most importantly, Reid Ferguson is officially back. Kirksey not listed, so probably not official.

Acknowledging that it's impossible to have every position on the team be a strength, I think our roster is excellent all the way down through the practice squad. Very nervous about the Jets game, but optimistic about the season as a whole. Hope to be in attendance at both the Jets and Raiders openers.

The Jets worry me as they have a very good secondary and Rodgers can dink and dunk with Wilson. As cliche as it sounds, they need to win both trenches.

You had me right up until you brought up Diggs.

The professionals all knew he was a number one (like Higgins.) He just needed Josh Allen in order to showcase that he was an All-Pro talent.

Not withstanding that McKenzie got resigned & is very clearly an NFL calibre player... You're right.

It's another reason why I think WR is stupidly over prioritised by many Bills fans. Remember when a rookie Allen who was a shadow of the player he is today, made Robert Foster look like a stud?
