If they're getting a sizable stadium, it has to be for MLS. Crowds aren't going to come out in big numbers to watch a CPL team.

Depends what happens with the CPL. Unfortunately Soccer Canada has also done little to grow the league or gain any traction. A lot of people have no interest in watching the CPL right now; however there is potential in the long-term to grow the league substantially. I look at the 2026 World Cup and see a massive opportunity to invest in domestic soccer programs and infrastructure.

As a VWFC fan, I thoroughly enjoyed the product more when we were in the USL and could watch successful campaigns. The atmosphere at the tiny dinky Swangard Stadium was also way better. It's depressing watching the MLS playoffs and knowing this team will never ever be there.

Crepeau, the Canadian backup, broke his leg saving a goal in the MLS Cup final and is out for the World Cup.

The bigger concern is Davies suffered a hamstring injury in Bayern's game today. There are concerns he will miss the World Cup as well.

Looks like Ismael Kone will now get a call up to the WC team
Kone was lights out the last two months and a lock. I think he starts in midfield with Eustaquio, who is also in form. Not sure we have anyone who could come close to replacing Davies at fullback/wing though.

Yeah, RIP. Losing Davies is back breaking to their chances.

Many of the games, including all of Canada's games will be on CTV. Depending on where you are, you may be able to access CTV with a tv antenna.

You can also pay for a month of TSN and stream the games.

What are the chances either SN or TSN is able to broadcast MLS games that AppleTV has the rights too?

Cuz if AppleTV is my only option to watch the Whitecaps, then I'm definitely finished as a Whitecaps fan.

Lucas Cavallini is gone. Thank god. He does have some quality to be a decent MLS player but that's quickly diminished whenever he loses focus. He's the Canadian version of Mario Balotelli.

Jake Nerwinski experiment is over as well. He never developed into a reliable MLS CB.

Derek Cornelius is back!

I think that's just to get a transfer fee from his Greek club. There is no sign he's actually coming back.

Everyone knew Cava would be gone, but there was speculation his option would get picked up for similar reasons (which I think is naive... it would be like a mini-version of JT Miller where they'd be disappointed in the offers and end up paying him too much, albeit for only one year).
