Florida lost 4-1.

If Calgary beats Toronto, not only will the Flames create a little separation from Montreal (if Habs lose in regulation), but they will also move ahead of Florida in the overall standings.

Last night was shit. Only Ottawa won. Vancouver got shut out. Boo.

Hopefully St.Louis-Colorado goes to a 3 point game with Blues winning.

Good news is Philadelphia is @ Arizona, so someone has to win there. If it's Flyers, they move within 2 pts of us making it 4 teams within 2 pts of us. 5 teams if Blues win.

Who says tanking is painful and boring?

Every night there are about 5 games that have implications for our draft position, that are exciting to follow. And, it gives one an incentive and opportunity to view more closely the rest of the league, to view more closely more teams and more players.

It’s like the Artie Lange joke about degenerate gamblers betting on random sports games in order to be able to enjoy watching sports.

My entertainment comes from following the Panthers. It's like finding cash on the sidewalk.

Saturday is the day the schedule starts getting much harder.

I think this week the Habs. Go .500, and after that things start going downhill for them.

Well, Buffalo lost to Pens, but we had 2 games in hand on them, so at least we wasted one of those. It's down to one game, and they're still 2 pts back.

Sens are only 4 pts back.

We currently sit with 12th OA pick; however if Vancouver can beat Minnesota tonight they pass us.

Florida is at pick #15.

Pens winning also helps keeping Florida away from a playoff spot. With the win, Pens move 6 pts ahead of Florida. While Pittsburgh sits 3rd in their division, they could still end up fighting for a Wild Card spot against the Panthers. So while the Sabres winning would serve the Habs falling lower in the standings, the Pens winning serves keeping Florida out of a playoff spot.

As with the Pens/Sabres game, Minnesota winning put them ahead of Florida. They're tied in points at 30, the Wild have a game in hand, so they push Florida down a spot.

Since we are looking at both the Habs and Panthers picks, some games serve both purposes whether one team wins or the other. Which was the case with the Pens/Sabres and Wild/Canucks.

Desired results tonight

- FLA regulation loss to SEA

- WSH win vs. WPG: if WSH wins, they move ahead of FLA in the standings.

- COL vs. STL: if COL wins, they move ahead of FLA in the standings. If STL wins, they get within 2 pts of MTL.
- PHI vs. ARI: if PHI wins, they get within 2 pts of MTL. If ARI wins, they get within 6 pts of MTL.

If FLA loses in regulation, and both COL and WSH win their games, then FLA drops from 17th overall to 19th overall.

Obviously it's more desirable for Florida to drop even lower in the standings but I'm absolutely fine if Habs end up getting a 15-16 pick from their placement. They've recently had more success drafting around there than both at the bottom and the top of the first round anyways lol

You guys are stressing too much about the good teams around us like Calgary St. Louis Minnesota…those teams will pass us eventually

What’s more interesting is seeing the panthers lose. That’s the main thing I’m tracking and hoping for. Our pick will be top 10 but if floridas can be top 15…wow!
