Linda is destined to become Jean Yawkey 2.0

Linda is now 45 years old and is the Managing Director of Boston Globe Media Partners, which is comprised of The Boston Globe, boston.com, and STAT News. She is also a partner in Fenway Sports Group, which includes Liverpool Football Club, the Boston Red Sox, Roush Fenway Racing, NESN, and more.

I know for a fact she broomed 2 high-ranking female executives with the Red Sox the most notable being Janet Marie Smith.

Keep in mind back in 2011 after Francona was fired Felger and Mazz said something about Linda and THIS HAPPENED

John Henry and Tom Werner are both 73 which is the same age Tom Yawkey was when he died in 1976.

The thought of that becoming a reality scares the ever living daylights out of me.

I'm sure this would make some around here fairly happy:

The Mets are expected to let their new president of baseball operations make the call on manager Buck Showalter after already cleaning house in the front office this past week with the firings of pro scouting director Jeff Lebow, farm director Kevin Howard, performance director Jim Cavallini and baseball development director Bryan Hayes.
Former Milwaukee Brewers GM David Stearns still is the heavy favorite to become the new president of baseball operations, although rumors persist that the Boston Red Sox could be in the mix.

There have been 5 hitters in all of baseball who have been better than Triston Casas since June 1st

Mookie, Freeman, Shohei, Acuna, Seager

Not a bad list to be on.
He's currently 7th in the American League for OPS on the season.

Hopefully he goes nuclear this month and Henderson has to look over his shoulder

It suckkkkkkks because between Henderson and eventually Holliday the Orioles are likely gonna have two more high picks coming their way

Seager is huge benefactor of the outlaw of the shift

Thought he was the next Mr Dodger- can’t believe they let him go

As good as Dodgers have been they won 1 WS since 1989 and it was a Covid WS and even after basically zero celebration temps and in Texas?) and Justin Turner got in trouble for going on the field to celebrate

Just me but they are ‘meh’ and been an overrated franchise since 1966

Sox are a mess but please spare me Tampa and Dodgers way

Tampa outright blows and would not be surprised 50 years from now they haven’t won squat

Dodgers won a the 2020 joke of a WS

Maybe because I was depressed being locked but the hockey, baseball and basketball championships were hollow

I really didn’t care- and if the Bruins won in a bubble after I waited all those years to see hopefully on home ice I didn’t give a shit

I’d count it but it was not very enjoyable with no idea what the future going to games would be

The Dodgers to me haven’t won really anything in 35 years

Read there team takes from Dodgers web site

Ask the Dodgers what they did to celebrate their 2020 World Series championship, and everyone will offer a similar answer.

“Nothing,” pitching coach Mark Prior answered.

“Definitely not how you would anticipate it,” pitcher Clayton Kershaw said.

“I wouldn’t say it was anticlimactic,” manager Dave Roberts said, “but in a sense it was.”

Not a chance in hell Henry outbids Cohen

Well this is an interesting take because I thought you were on the Dodgers East train. Meaning, be good every year but obviously no guarantee you win it all. With that said the Dodgers should absolutely have more than just the COVID title. A lot of chokes but the dorks will tell you there's no such thing.

As for the Red Sox, not even close to being Dodgers East. That train never left the station under Chaim Bloom.

I’m on their plan - I hate them lol

They haven’t won shit like Tampa

I’m not defending Bloom or ownership

I don’t trust anyone making decisions in Boston

The Sox don’t smell right - but don’t tell me Tampa & LA are the poster children for success

I’d go Braves and Cardinals (this year messed up) and Astros but the cheating scandal tough to get past

I agree with you, but this year they got 2 of the 3 NL MVP candidates. If they go out, It'll be because of their starting pitching....Like it is every year.

But goddamn, what Betts and Freeman are doing this year is really something.

Acuna, Freeman and Betts all deserve to be MVP. Shame that only 1 can get it...

No love for what the Brewers are doing? I thought they were your second favorite team?

They have arguably the best manager in baseball, and they've got the starting pitching to win a series or two in the post season. If they can get just mediocre hitting in the post season (and they probably won't....), they can do some damage.

In all seriousness, Milwaukee is the polar opposite of Boston. They win on pitching and defense and hope their offense is good enough.

Again, I am not a big Sox fan.

Can someone(s) explain what happened to them? Luchino and Warner are gone, I assume.

Is Chiam Bloom any good, and is he going to be axed?

My understanding is that the Betts trade to LA was basically a salary dump, universally panned.

Is this a Jeremy Jacobs situation, in which Henry doesn't care about the club's success as long as the stands are full?

Have die hard Red Sox fans turned away from the team, more apathetic than angry?

Really, I'm just curious.

Any insight from whatever corner appreciated.

Luchino was exiled to Worchester. sp Warner still has some power but little. Betts trade is considerably worse than the Thornton trade, but it is somewhat comparable I suppose.
Bloom is mind bogglingly awful.
This similar to the Jacobs situation, except Bloom is incompetent and Sinden obviously was not. Fans are not stupid, and they are angry.

Thank you.

Do you have the sense that Henry simply doesn't care as long as pink hats and tourists are content?

He has shifted his focus to other parts of his portfolio, feeling he has done all he can with the Red Sox. Bloom also is absolutely terrible, but having an incompetent, gutless rotisserie playing CBO is just a symptom of the larger illness.
