Looks like three of the Red Sox' best prospects are being promoted.

1B Blaze Jordan and SP Wikelman Gonzalez are headed for AA Portland.

SP Luis Perales is headed for A+ Greenville.

So Kiley in his final mock and some others have them taking Aidan Miller. Seems like they've been circling back.

Expecting that Nimmala is taken as late as #13 by the Cubs, my final top 2 have been all along and remain: Miller and Houck unless someone from tier 1-2 drops.

Lots of late mock drafts linking the Red Sox with Aidan Miller, a High School 3B from Florida.

Fangraphs' last mock has the Sox taking Wake Forest starter Rhett Lowder, who has consistently been rated as a Top 10 prospect, but may be slipping in the final hours.

Interesting draft tidbits per Alex Speier

There were 14 teams in lottery and 4 balls that came up 1 at a time

After three balls came up the Red Sox were sitting with best odds for #1 and they were aware of it - actually 50 % better odds then Pirates who got it

The team with pick 13 Twins jumped to 5. The Red Sox and Twins tied and Twins won coin flip prior to lottery. Had the Red Sox not swept the Rays final 3 games of season (yes that really happened) and won 0-2 games the Sox are 13 and the balls out them at 5

There needs to be some leeway though, right? I just don’t see any reason to sit your hottest hitter. It sends a bad message. They’re already going into the break, so he’s going to have what, a week off?

I just think at this stage with him, he needs to see lefties more. His numbers this season against LHP aren't bad. He’s on fire currently.

I understand.

Like I said, I don't agree with it, especially being so cut and dry.

But Cora has to look to the long term more than we do as fans. He also has 3 left hitting OFs that are the best hitters on the team as well a guy (Duvall) who they are hoping will get hot so they can get some return for him if they look to move him. And of course, Refsnyder is their best hitter (another OF) against lefties.

A tradition unlike any other: Harold Reynolds ruining MLB Network's draft coverage

Reminds me of the situation when the Celtics came this close to jumping into the top 3 (?) with the Sacramento pick several years go, but the last ball prevented that from happening.

Too bad, but this draft is supposed to be deep.

Not sure I agree with:

Skenes > Crews

and

Clark > Langford

Would have picked differently.

Rangers now with Langford. They are friggin loaded. And they are already doing well (look at the ASG starters). This is scary.

Perales needs to be protected this off-season so I like that they’re being aggressive with him
