Hell baby
.330/.390/.720 is terrible for the season so far. He is worse than a replacement player overall so far.
he had one bad month (the first month of his first full season no less) that sunk his numbers and he’s been good since, which is the entire point of the tweet and my subsequent posts.

Also thank you for proving my point on people still bashing him in the present even though he’s been good for over a month (OPS ~.800 since April left)

The whole point of this post was to say he HASNT hit poorly for about a month and a half and still gets roasted by Sox fans.

He had a mini slump for a handful of games a week or two ago (entire lineup slumped) but outside of that? Roses since the calendar turned May. Without looking he probably been their 3rd best hitter behind Yoshida and Refsnyder since then.
Where is the roasting? I have generally seen a fan base that is indifferent because the team is mediocre at best. And he's still not hitting for a lot of power. That's who he's supposed to be.

Dude he didn't bash him. He stated facts. You just can't handle it. It's not always going to be a linear ascension either. It's fair to say that Casas has been underwhelming so far this year but is showing signs he might be figuring it out.

After seeing what a butcher he surprisingly appears to be on the field with the glove, he needs to continue to perform with the bat like Matt Olson and not only for a month. As if one good month is a tremendous success. A 1B bat only type of top-prospect needs to be a middle of the order slugger to be called a success.

It’s almost like he’s learning how to hit major league pitching and starting to do it successfully and that continuous criticism of him is stupid considering he’s now been playing well

When did I call him “a tremendous success”? Strawman city. I’m saying he’s playing well and isn’t deserving of the continuous criticism he’s been getting in the present from a good chunk of Sox fans.

Not for nothing but it seems his defensive metrics are starting to tick in the right direction too (not that it was all that difficult for them to do). That play last night was certainly important. Confidence is a wonderful thing!

You calling out someone else for a strawman argument is comedy gold.

Casas is putting it together and deserves the chance to develop at the major league level. He's already more consistent than Bobby Dalbec.

What kind of discussions do you actually expect when you constantly use words like "stupid", "bashing" and call out others for a "strawman" for users/fans that disagree with you? When did I say that YOU specifically called the latest month by Casas a tremendous success, it's just in your imagination. It was meant in the sense that Casas still has ways to go and has to consistently put up months like this (i.e. the comparison to Matt Olson, who does it regularly) to be anything special.

The defense and his feel for the game is "subpar" to phrase it nicely and I am not betting that it's things like that suddenly get better at the ML level, just like I am not buying Durans play in the field just yet, although he has much better tools (speed) to work with to be at least an average defender, but he also lacks the feel to be a plus.

Zips and Steamer also expect him to stay well below average with the glove while they project him to be good with the bat. Also a minus on the basepaths. This feels familiar, how many players like that can a team stockpile?

Criticism of a guy playing well is stupid! That’s what bashing is! Here to help!

And btw it is a strawman when you say “as if one month is a tremendous success” when literally nobody is saying that, including the tweeter who made the comparison if that’s who you are talking about (the only other person you could be talking about other than me). Nobody has made that claim so I don’t get the point of the comment? The actual claim is he’s been a good hitter lately. God forbid people be optimistic about a young guy seemingly figuring things out!

News to me that someone is doing well when he is worse than a replacement level player. But if Bloom also feels like that, no wonder this franchise continues to suck.
Since May 1st he hasn’t been, that’s the entire point! You’re being willfully silly or can’t read. Don’t have time for that!

As long as you take your time insulting users who disagree with you, you're gonna be fine as always.

By the way, just because the since May 1st stuff is YOUR point doesn't mean it's gotta be MINE nor the point of any other critical voice.

I think the most important part of all of this is to watch how he progresses after a a very slow start coming off big expectations.

Trends are important for young players without experience.

Both points hold value.
