From the first QCup in Dieppe and the great performance at the Canada Games I’m surprise that Quimper is not one of the 4 goalies from the Maritimes 🤔 on that list.

Probably not enough showing 🤷‍♂️

His CSR rating is much lower than the 4 other Maritimes goalies on the last list that's why.

Yeah, the players invited are based on the CSR. Doesn't mean it will go that way come draft day. I think Quimper has done as much if not more than most of the invited goaltenders, but he is not the biggest guy and the CSR really likes size.

You're absolutely right on everything. Some ratings in the list are, at the least, very debatable...
Definitely some very good players missing on those teams for various reasons.
Most often CSR and team's picks can be quite different...

Q approved parents streaming so as long as I have wifi at rink , I’ll be streaming Q Cup games for all team Crosby games and maybe some MacKinnon games in the following private group.

Message me separately with your name so I can approve if interested. No commentary though, except me cursing when my kid isn’t playing well😜.

Lane Sim drafted Round 3 #53 overall in OHL.
Maybe Round 3 of OHL equals to Round First of QMJHL?

Perhaps that is true but several teams during the Canada Games gave Ontario a go for their money . And when you consider that 10 of those players were drafted in the first round of the OHL Draft including the top four picks , I would say the discrepancy between the leagues is not as great as you have suggested !!!

Not likely any of the other Canada Games teams had ten first round picks in their lineups !!!

I would say Team QC should have more than 10 drafted in first round of Q. But Team QC lost to SK twice, SK lost to ON in OT.

I agree . They were the team that I most enjoyed watching . Many of those guys will be first round picks for sure and they will be just as good as the OHL first round picks !!!

Atlantic kids were not doing great in Q cup.
Maybe some kids stocks will go down when CSR final list is released.

Skating, passing and compete seemed to be not as good compared to QC teams.
Watched all of the Atlantic Teams' games and I agree that they weren't as sharp as the Quebec kids . I was also told that unlike our kids , the Quebec kids had continued to play competitive hockey after they were no longer in their playoffs . Most of our guys had not played a competitive game in four or five weeks . You could see that the timing wasn't there and playing on different lines from game to game doesn't make it any easier . As an aside , a former Major Junior coach in the Maritimes once reported that the year before he came here , he coached AAA Midget full time in Quebec , was paid $50,000 a year , free car and a gass card for his efforts . Needles to say , he put a lot into it and those kids got REAL development . That was over 20 years ago can you imagine . He also felt that a 15 year old kid from Quebec was atleast one year ahead of a player from Atlantic Canada . I don't know if we have closed the gap any , but we are producing some very talented players in Atlantic Canada . Our part time coaches certainly don't have that kind of time to prepare for their coaching duties although most do the best that they can . Hence , we see an exodus of kids heading for prep schools where they get the full time attention you rerquire in order to advance to higher levels . The USHL devours the kids coming from prep schools across the US and Canada and the Division 1 universities use that league as their primary source of players for their teams . Gone are the days when you can jump from U18 to division 1 hockey . It is a a hughe leap for sure !!!

Also , someone mentioned that perhaps the rankings of our players might go down after these four games . Considering the timing of this event , that would be rediculous . Quite a few of the highest CSR ranked players in the Canada games did not do very well at all over a six game tournament and they had very similar rankings on the second list . There were other guys who performed much better during the games and slipped in the rankings . Kind of hard to figure that out so I wouldn't put a lot of faith in those rankings . Scouts have seen Atlantic Canada kids in atleast three or four major tournaments before this and should have a good grasp of which kids have the highest potential . If players drop in ranking because of this poorly timed event, then the CSR ranking system is severely flawed !!! Don't worry about rankings and draft rounds . Encourrage your kids to do their best at all times and to leave an imoression !!!

The last list from the CSR is actually from BEFORE the Canada Games.

Which means that you have not yet seen the adjustments for the Canada Games + Playoffs + QMJHL Cup.

Some players have been poor in all these events. Others have been good in all of them. You will definitely see fluctuations in the rankings.

The CSR is obviously never perfect, it's the opinion of a group of scouts, similar to a QMJHL team. They have their preferences, they can be right or wrong.

Agree. And year after year CSR scouts show that they like size. Draft Day, you notice that teams prefer talent.
