There's a potentially elite shutdown line here (Rousek - Ostlund - Benson) and a potentially elite scoring line (Rosen - Savoie - Kulich). And a potential top 10 goalie in Levi. Y'all can argue all you want, but regardless of what you think about prospect A vs prospect B, it's a great time to be a fan of the Buffalo Sabres.

Levi (who honestly is so good, that it’s tough to still consider him here —but given the criteria…). But it’s closer at the top three then it might seem IMHO.

Definitely add Novikov.

when was the last time we were this f***ing deep with all around skill in our prospect pipeline?! Not to mention guys who are just starting to graduate that currently have roster spots. I give a lot of credit to our scouting staff in NA & overseas cause the future looks bright! Been a fan since '09 and I havent been this excited or felt as secure that we're in good hands for the coming years in many moons

But I don’t think so. If you followed the 2023 NHL draft thread or Savoie thread just about everyone had him as a better prospect than Savoie looooonnnnng before we drafted him. And given Savoie was a top 3 prospect with Levi/Kulich, I think it’s a bit more objective having him at #1 than the board going “shiny new toy”

I think that Levi is the next Ryan Miller. Quite confident about that.

I just don't know if any of the forwards are sure fire all-star level players.

It was actually one and a half seasons, but the real questions is - did Helle need that AHL time?

There's a very good case to make that he did not.

Is there? Because it very clearly worked versus throwing him in the deep end and hoping he’s ready.

You know, I hate to keep harping on this but I’m really not a fan of what they’re doing in net this year. But we’ll see, I guess. I would love to be wrong and see young goalies on cheap deals do well.
