They are selfish, soft and sometimes stupid. They are one big man short on the bench, so that they are gassed at the end of games. This lousy coach does not help either. (They never should have taken the interim tag away and hired him.) This series is going seven, and that is a joke. Smart continues to give master classes in false hustle, ego and sometimes, mind-boggling stupidity. He should have been gone a while back.
I hope Brown enjoys his near max contract and fake alpha dog status with Houston or the Knicks or whomever. It is very classy of him to be plotting to leave now. Trade him for something in the Summer and start again.
I may wring my hands about the Bruins because they have a way of almost getting there and disappointing us, but they work hard ,and you love em for it. This group of Celtics is almost the opposite and makes me appreciate the Bruins more.

If Brown doesn't make any of the All-NBA teams, a trade probably makes a lot of sense.

If he does, he's a lock for a super max w Celtics since no one can come close to that deal.

He's probably making 3rs team all-nba fwiw

Tatum has to be the mentally softest superstar in the NBA.

Just don't trust the dude in the clutch.
Exact thought

If the Celtics had Jimmy Butler instead of Tatum they sweep Atlanta and are going for back to back

I’m not the only one who watched him with a 13 point lead walk the ball up stand there as the clock ticked off, his teammate stood around waiting for him and no momentum - no flow no energy

I’m done - I slept like shit after this I’m not doing it again

They could win next 12 games but I would not trust them - or really him

It’s likely the Celtics end up advancing and if so give me Miami with a healthy Butler so we can watch a true big game player is

Only one thing can save this team from major changes

They advance

They get Jimmy Butler who shows them what it’s like to have youe balls dropped

They learn from him and carry it through

They let their perfect coach from my view Damon Stoudamere leave 2 months ago

No way that guy AS COACH lets them play that way

Eh it's a little different.

Celtics have had a history with this group of doing shit like this.
Pretty much every current nba team has a history of blowing leads and losing, it’s how the nba works. It’s a game of runs. Celtics fans act like blowing a 12 point lead is unheard of and unique to them when I’d wager it happens pretty much every night in the league.

They played an awful 4th quarter. I’m not going to shit on everything they’ve done and say it’s over because of one bad quarter. That’s exactly what ppl were doing on this board about the 3rd period of game 2 and we’ve seen what happened there. Hopefully that series gets wrapped up tonight and then hopefully the Celtics walk into Atlanta and smoke them

I see a lot of people criticizing coaching but he didn’t make Tatum/Smart/Jaylen lose their brains down the stretch. Those are veteran NBA players who have played in the first round of the playoffs plenty. You can only blame coaching for so much in the nba, they’re not the ones on the court executing. That 2nd to last possession play drawn up to get White on Young was nice. It’s not his fault Jaylen didn’t contest a 3. It’s a player-driven league.

I mean, to try and justify losing last night at home against the Atlanta Hawks who were without one of their best players because "NBA teams have lost leads before" is something. Let's not try to equate any random regular season NBA game to what the Celtics did last night. There is zero comparison.

Nobody is saying it's over. They are still playing the Atlanta Hawks. But there is every reason to be concerned with last night. Just like there was a reason to be concerned after the Bruins performance in game two. It's the playoffs. You shouldn't get a pass for having an off night or choking like the Celtics did last night.

At least I am not seeing the Marcus Smart defenders. Shouldn't even be on the floor at the end of close games.

Why are the Celtics talking about Joe Embiid and Philly? They may not win this series. Tatum was terrible again under pressure. Tatum is a long way from being a league MVP. Defense Defense, They need to learn and play with a killer instinct.

Let's see if Brown and Tatum can get on the same page together in the same game. The same for Horford and RW III, offense, boards and defense together in the same game.

Go Celtics put this series away. If they play like they did in this series to date and win, they won't advance against Philly.

Yeah normally I agree with a lot of what you post, but this ain't it.

I get the league is about runs, etc. Wire to wire wins are rare. But after seeing this group for multiple seasons, I don't know how anyone can argue that they havent hadd issues for years putting their foot on the gas and closing out games/series, usually at home.

I mean just look at last year alone. Milwaukee game 5, Heat game 6 (and almost g7), GSW game 4.

This isn't some one off thing with this team, that's the issue. It's become their M.O. to not have the killer instinct to finish off a team when they have them down and giving up massive runs. It's multiple years of this team being triple ply Charmin

Hell, it cost them the damn title last year.

Game 2: Gave up a 43-14 run from the late 2nd quarter into the early 4th. Should've been up 2-0 in the series
Game 4: Up 4 with 5 minutes left, score only 1 bucket in the rest of the game. Should've been up 3-1 in the series
Game 6: Jump up 14-2...then get outscored 52-25 including a 21-0 run to close out the half. Should've forced a game 7

To make it worse, games 4 and 6 were at home.

They should all watch the Last Dance and imagine what MJ would do next game about Young mugging it up on his home court. Need to find some killer instinct before Thursday night.

They went into Milwaukee and beat the defending champs with the league mvp in a game 7. They have their fair share of comebacks.

I’m going to need somebody to actually prove to me they blow leads more than most other teams before I jump onboard that narrative. Otherwise I just assume people watch the Celtics and only the Celtics. It happens every night across the league.

Heather Walker, the Celtics’ vice president of public relations, died Wednesday morning following a nearly two-year battle with cancer, the family announced. She was 51 years old.

Walker, who was hired by the Celtics in 2006, spent most of the last two years raising money to research glioblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer, via her Move 4 Heather Challenge.
