If a Game 7 is necessary for the Lakers-Warriors series — which Los Angeles currently leads, 3-2, with Game 6 set for Friday night in L.A. — Boston and Philadelphia will tip off Sunday at 8 p.m

If the Lakers wrap up the series on Friday night, Game 7 between the Celtics and Sixers will start Sunday at 3:30 p.m.

Hell baby
Top player is a no show 3/4 of a elimination game…..
Fortunately he was the best guy on the floor (including the mvp and harden) when they really needed him to be

Been told he comes up empty in crunch time! This game he came up empty in everything but crunch time lol. If Jaylen doesn’t leave harden wide open for 3 we’re talking about how clutch he is this series

I absolutely despise the Lakers. The only professional teams that I hate more are the Canadiens and the Yankees.

Celtics Pride baby!!! Wooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do too......but in this case I'm more hoping for the Celtics to be playing at 8:00 on Sunday -- rather than 3:30.

Mazzulla with the 3 magic words for Tatum....

Tatum was 1-for-14 from the field, including 0-for-6 from deep. He had all but cost the Celtics their season in the elimination game.

With five minutes and change left, Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla called time to chat with Tatum.

“I love you,” Mazzulla said of the conversation. “That’s it.”

The response was nothing short of incredible.

With the Sixers ahead, 83-81, Tatum scored 12 of the Celtics’ last 14 points to lift them to a 95-86 victory and force Game 7, Sunday at TD Garden. After the horrific start, Tatum finished with 19 points, nine rebounds, six assists and two blocked shots.

Bill Russell rookie card sells for $660 grand. :amazed:

from espn.com:

A 1957 Topps Bill Russell rookie card sold for $660,000 at auction Thursday, setting a record for a card of the Boston Celtics great who died last year.

The sale, conducted by PWCC Marketplace, makes the Russell card the third-most-expensive vintage (pre-1980) basketball card of all time, according to Card Ladder.

The only other pre-1980 basketball cards that sold for more were a 1948 Bowman George Mikan rookie card ($800,000 in March 2022) and a 1961 Fleer Wilt Chamberlain rookie card ($670,000 in June).

This Russell rookie card -- which was graded an 8.5, between mint and near-mint, by Professional Sports Authenticator -- previously held the record for most expensive card of his when it sold for $630,000 in March 2021. There are only three copies of the card graded higher, and they have never surfaced for public auction.

The Bill Russell rookie card that sold for $660,000
was graded between mint and near-mint condition.

For years Russell was an enigma in the sports memorabilia hobby, but in June 2021 he facilitated the auction of more than 700 items from his Hall of Fame career. The collection was brought to market from December 2021 to April 2022 with Hunt Auctions, netting nearly $9 million, including a jersey worn in Russell's final game, the clinching win of the 1969 NBA Finals, that sold for more than $1 million.

Typical of Russell, he made sure proceeds benefited charities, with funds going to Mentor, a Boston-based nonprofit he co-founded, and Boston Celtics United for Social Justice, which fights racial injustice and social inequities in the greater Boston area.

Russell, a civil rights icon who was the first Black coach in any major professional sport and the first to win an NBA title, died July 31 at the age of 88. In August, the NBA announced that Russell's No. 6 would be retired across the league -- a first -- with only players already using the number being allowed to keep it.

That's one of the great things about having me on the team.
Imagine having a team of Marcus Smarts? Not only would that team be unstoppable, but the post game pressers would be epic. 12 Marcus Smarts all arguing over who would get control of the mic for the post game

I'm one of the first once to state that the Celtics are poor shooting at times, and sometimes seem to lack heart.

That said, that was potentially a legacy changing 4th Q performance by Tatum. He could have came out of this game and a choker, but stepping up like he did was impressive. Props given where props due.

Now do it again (but for the whole game)

Thank you, Joe Mazzulla, for your coaching in game 6. With the different look at the start, using RW III and Al Horford together was novel for this season and not expected by Philly. The Celtics and Philadelphia did not expect Jayson Tatum's offensive level of play for the first three quarters to shit the bed. Mazzulla and Marcus Smart kept the Celtics together and in the game for those 3 quarters.
Then JM told Jayson "he loved him" and the team told Jayson they were with him, keep shooting. You know the rest, #7

A pathetic hail mary by the Sixers in the lead up after the refs crew was announced. Leaked that the Celtics benefited on the calls in Game 6 on the full game ref report, got Doc talking to the media about how hard it is to overcome. Still an hour left for Harden to say he's just misunderstood by the refs.
