Man, the Phillies look like a team that could win it all. That bullpen is doing work. If they can steal a Ranger Suarez vs. Spencer Strider start and go up 1-0 in a best of 5 with Wheeler and Nola still in the chamber and taking homefield back, ooh boy. Atlanta was the best team in the world this year but Philly is their kryptonite.

That Catcher's Interference call is going to be a controversy. You can't really see any movement on the replays, but my gut feeling is that Realmuto instinctively pointed it out right away and Murphy didn't show much protest, so there probably was contact.

Hell baby
Kimbrel with a clean playoff save against the team he’ll probably go into the hall with

It's almost like they have a guy in charge who knows what he's doing.

First Cassidy, now hopefully Dombrowski.

Kershaw is David Price. Both have a WS ring but plenty of playoff disasters.

Of the 4 bye teams only Houston looked ready to play.

Philly just seems to be peaking at the right time.

I think having a week off and a first round bye actually hurts more than hit helps. Atlanta, LA and Baltimore just looked flat, and in a 5 game series, you don't have a game to waste like you do in a 7 game series. I like the 3 team WC, but I'm not a fan of the layoff for bye teams, or the 5 game Division Series schedule.. I hope MLB and the Players Association sort that out.

Orioles are on life support
Bruce Bochy putting on a master class on how to manage a very thin starting rotation and a very shaky bullpen. He's made every right move with his pitching through these first 2 games. Heaney and Dunning combined for the first 6 innings yesterday, and today its Montgomery and Bradford.......None of those guys are better than a #3 starter on a good rotation, and I'm probably being generous.

Yeah, Texas put up 10 today, but what Bochy is doing with his pitching is really interesting to watch.

I do not like the three team wild card. It lets in one bad team, eliminates the wildcard game, and the bye is absolutely a detriment.
I'll disagree about letting one bad team in. Philly showed that last year. But I do agree with the rest of your points.

If the Players Association won't agree to a 7-game Divisional Series, then I'm fine with scrapping the 3rd Wild Card though, and going back to the format that we had 2 years ago.

Amazing that there will be a new GM (or whatever they’re calling it these days, President of Baseball Operations) and new pitching and positional coaches, yet Cora will seemingly be brought back.
