Tavares didn’t seem like he had much impact in the game (that I saw)That's a shame in Toronto.
The draft rules forced GMs to make those kind of decisions. It's the numbers of players a team can protect. It was ridiculously low. Teams should have been able to protect 3 or 4 more players. The low numbers force teams to make difficult decisions about 2nd line forwards and 2nd pairing defensemen. And in a time of a stagnant cap, teams were forced to use the expansion draft to dump salaries of players that they should have been able to keep. It should take great drafting, shrewd trading, and player development to win as an expansion team. Instead, the NHL gave both Vegas and Seattle golden tickets to the playoffs at the expense of established teams....and their fans. It is a travesty and I hope both teams lose.Teams should be less stupid then. Its an insult to how stupid some GM's can get (COUGH COUGH), and it exposes how terrible asset management is for some players as well. At least with the Bolts they had a reason why Gourde left. What the actual hell is wrong with the Isles, Leafs, and Penguins to give up those players? What the hell were we thinking giving up Eberle over Bailey/Martin/Clutterbuck? Ridiculous. I hate the expansion draft but it exposes how stupid GM's get.
I think the Florida pressure they put on made the leafs amazing chances just a hair off, which is why they couldn’t capitalize. And I also noticed it seems like when the leafs turn it over, they have no idea what to do to transition back to defense. Like each guy thinks ‘meh, someone else will get back’.the major difference in the game....it came down to finishing. Even though the Panthers had less chances and had less possession time, they were able to capitalize on the chances that they did have, The Leafs had SOOOOO many amazing chances...not goo..not great, but amazing chances and they couldn't get it done.
I agree. Bobrovsky has been amazing. Toronto is in trouble but this series is far from over. And I thought that Tavares had a very strong game. This Toronto team is resilient. I don't know why but I'm kind of pulling for them...Didn’t feel Florida was really the better team in either game. I think Florida really needs to win one at home and even then I’m not sure they close it out. If Toronto can get to game 6 down 3-2 I still think they’re superior if they can get Bob’s level down a notch
Yeah, it's pretty bad. I just took a glance at the logos and most are not great. I do like the Seattle logo. Kings old crown logo was great. The new one stinks. The Sharks have a good concept, but I think it could use an updating. Pens is hokey and fun. I don't mind the Arizona logo.
Anything with a shield or a crest is going to look like a soccer logo. Put the Vegas logo into that bucket as well.
It took me into my early twenties to realize that there was an H in the Whalers logo.
But I agree with NJ and Hartford having the best logos. Very clean, tells you exactly where they’re from and minimalist design effects tell you who they are.
Conversely, not a big fan of Carolina’s Hurricane icon. Additionally, the Devils “Jersey,” jersey is just beyond dumb.
Agreed on both. I think if Vegas removed the shield thing, it would be much improved.Vegas looks like they were trying to do what the Whalers did, just not as good. I really dig everything Seattle did, but I don't think that name is going to age well.
Holy shit there is.It took me into my early twenties to realize that there was an H in the Whalers logo.
Banning ticket sales to certain postal codes is just a silly thing to do. In the past the Hurricanes and Lightning have done this. It doesn't keep people from buying those tickets on the secondary market, and in the case of the Lightning, and especially the Panthers, there are so many ex-pat Canadians who live in Florida and go to Panthers games that this sales policy is like trying to piss out a forest fire.Leafs will now win both games in Florida after the idiocy they did banning Canadian fans from buying tickets, I believe in karma and Florida winning both in Toronto I am guessing is a result of the "We Want Florida" and Leafs fans in general openly expressing how happy they were to face Boston instead of Florida, and now it is Florida's turns to take a hit
Sometimes the goals just dry up in a big spot. That happened last night to the Leafs big guns again.the major difference in the game....it came down to finishing. Even though the Panthers had less chances and had less possession time, they were able to capitalize on the chances that they did have, The Leafs had SOOOOO many amazing chances...not goo..not great, but amazing chances and they couldn't get it done.
Nope.Tell me you're kidding!
Really? I never realized. Not being a dick I honestly didn't know. Obviously there are tons of transplants from NY and New England...Banning ticket sales to certain postal codes is just a silly thing to do. In the past the Hurricanes and Lightning have done this. Anyone realizing the parallels between this postseason's Leafs team and our 2016 postseason?
-Tavares scores the Overtime goal in game 6 to get the monkey off his team's back and bring his team to the second round for the first time in decades
- 2nd round we got swept by the canes (and they're 0-2 in the series)
Weird..
We faced Tampa, and the isles actually WON game 1 btw.Anyone realizing the parallels between this postseason's Leafs team and our 2016 postseason?

ah, crap stand corrected...You're thinking of 2019 re: the Canes.
In 2016 the Islanders celebrated their first series win in 23 years, similar to the Leafs this year, but then managed one win against TB in round 2.
Unscientific rule of thumb. People from the northeast followed I-95 and relocated along Florida’s Atlantic coast. People from the rust belt and Ontario drove down I-75 and went to the Gulf Coast.Nope.

So many things I'm learning today! lol
