I think this is exactly what the Jets need to do.
Personally I’d make Dillon or Stanley+ available to get the first pick of the 2nd round and grab Cristal there.
I'd like to see the Jets move a LHD for a 2nd if they can, but I'm not sure Cristall would be the target.

If they go "small", then I'd prefer Brindley or Perron.

But I also like the idea of a big Swedish C like Wahlberg.

More blah blah

Arizona could have doubled their first round picks and still got the guys they drafted haha...

Same with Philly - Michov isn't transforming that team any more than a mid and late round first would

I remember reading Moore was a risk to play out his NCAA career, maybe that scared off the Jets?
Idk, could be. Might have just liked Barlow as character guy and someone being closer to making the jump. The facial hair is pretty convincing.

So is Barlow this years version of McGroarty?
Seems as though they share play styles and leadership attributes?
I feel like "yes" is the answer, though I think Barlow has better hands and Ruts has a better smile. The tie-breaker is a beard challenge, so we put Barlow on the 1st and McGroarty on the 2nd

I don’t think the Ducks or any of the other bottom teams would have any interest. Maybe Washington at 40 might bite on Dillon?

Just reading the best available players (The Athletic) if we do trade into the second round. Pekarcik is one with intrigue. High energy winger; low minutes with his pro team but good production in the u18 setup. One of the youngest players in the draft. Probably better off adding some RHD into the system though.

For the nth year in a row, I want us to have more draft picks, since that's the obvious way to outdraft other teams, which we have to do if so many players ask out instead of in.

On a lighter note, today starts the fun annual tradition of seeing how many people realize that a "riser" requires a single team to value a player at or above their current draft pick, while a "faller" requires an increasing number of teams to not value that player that highly. At a certain point, people drafted after the 1st round aren't "first round talents" according to a vast majority of NHL scouts.

It's not a perfect science, since theoretically every team could have a draft order of only their drafted players ranked from 1 to their number of draft picks, but in reality it's unlikely your 4th round pick is a steal with first round talent.

Barlow looks like Bret from Flight of the Conchords.

Dillon for one of Buffalo's 2nds? They have 39 and 45. They'd have Samuelsson, Power and Dillon on LD. replaces Jacob Bryson (who?)

Cristall or Dragicevic would be my pick I think.

Actually Buffalo probably more interested in Demelo given he's RHD. They have four Lefties with Dahlin playing RD

Sportsnet's coverage past the 1st round is complete ass.

Spend 5 minutes on pick 34, 1 minute on 35, and then basically just mention the name of pick 36

Jealous of the Caps getting Cristall so late.

Detroit slow to make their next pick, I wonder if they're considering a trade :dunno:
