Michkov plays against men in the second best league in the world and Leonard scored 25% fewer points than both his linemates with a Harlem Globetrotters style team that was only focussed on offense against kids coming from biology and stats class.

Michkov is criticized for his physicality and size too, not like anyone thinks he can survive in the NHL playing as a strong forechecker.

Leonard will be just fine, deep down you know it too.

To be fair, I could make a 3 minutes Youtube mixtape of Leonard getting decked, knocked down, falling when he tried to hit someone, his stick flying 5 feet in the air, or ridiculously failed body checks. So there’s that.

Well yeah, like every game he played is available to watch right now.

He’s got a great shot and wheels. I don’t think he will be as relatively quick in the NHL and as relatively capable of playing a physical game. So strip those back a bit and what do we have?

I’m not sure but I don’t see it. Particularly over Michkov or Will Smith the magician.
If Smith is available, it’s an automatic. Same with the Swede to me.

Really bummed we only have one pick in the first two rounds. Not sure this is the way to rebuild…

If Carlsson and Reinbacher are both available at 5, who would you go with?
A potential top RD vs a potential Barkov like center. I would go with the big skilled center since its harder to get, but a top RD hold alot of value as well.

Some people have Smith as part of the top 4, I have Reinbacher.

Rebuilding does not mean only through drafting. Adding young players with untapped potential that are established in the league is a strong way to make your team better. We did not sacrifice the top 5 pick. The late 1st round isn't even guaranteed that the prospect will make the NHL let alone a 2nd rounder. For every PK Subban, there is a Sebastian Collberg, Joni Ikonen, Zach Fucale, Dalton Thrower etc.

That's fair. I also value D like Reinbacher more than a ASP when it comes to no. 1 D. For example, Weber was the no. 1 D for team Canada and dude had average offensive skills and an amazing shot. So while some people here are crapping all over Reinbacher, I'm actually closer to you but I still have him outside the top 5

Yeah, I was listening to a few podcasts today and although I'm very much on the camp of drafting Michkov, I'll be really happy with Reinbacher.
