Also I'm pretty sure in that behind the scenes video from last year, Habs management said Hutson could be a good gamble in the 3rd. He wasn't someone they were praying would fall from the 1st or they hand ranked really high it seems.

Newhook was playing bottom 6 minutes... Any talks of him being able to play top 6 minutes is pure speculation.
