Right, you're right. No one drafted after #5, especially in deep drafts, ever have superstar potential.
Not what I said and you know it.

Are they giving us payback over our Caufield exuberance?I made the mistake of reading the Michkov thread on the flyers’ board, now I’m even more depressed
That’s the worst part, they’re not, just talking about how lucky they are to have the second best player of the draft at 7Are they giving us payback over our Caufield exuberance?
What really boggles my mind is why we didn't trade with Philly if we knew they wanted Mitchov. That would literally mean they value Reinbacher as a clear-cut #1 remaining player available at #5 and the 3rd best available and+ wasn't worth it. Not only do we have to live with the fact that we passed on Mitchkov, we will also have to live that Reinbacher clearly needs to be greatly better than all the people under him, otherwise this would be a failed pick.
With that being said, at the end of the day, I'm still gonna root for the kid to succeed and i'm ''kinda'' happy we got him. It's just the expectation for him to be really great and Mitchov being just straight-up better is kinda scary.
I don't think it did but they felt they were getting BPA and filling a need. He said they might have cooled a bit on him if he was a LD. They probably still take him.Yes. But that should not play a role at 5th overall.
And a complete loon.Reinbacher has better credentials than Fischer. Fischer had nothing going form him and was a WTF is going on draft pick.
Because Arizona was going to Reinbacher at 6What really boggles my mind is why we didn't trade with Philly if we knew they wanted Mitchov. Correct on their evaluation of Reinbacher as they were afraid he wouldn’t be available to them if they traded down. What really boggles my mind is why we didn't trade with Philly if we knew they wanted Mitchov. I'm pretty sure that Arizona would have taken Reinbacher if we traded down. They did take a D-man right after us.What really boggles my mind is why we didn't trade with Philly if we knew they wanted Mitchov. Literally zero teams traded down the entire first round. I think everyone realized the draft was deep enough they could sit and take what fell. What really boggles my mind is why we didn't trade with Philly if we knew they wanted Mitchov. And we end up with Newhook and Reinbacher instead. How lucky we are.Dang I leave for the night and this happens. I like Reinbacher but we had the chance to get a generational guy at #5 and we desperately need talent upfront and we don't pick Michcov? What logic is this? We cannot hire stars as UFA, you have to draft them and we're like naaaa when one is available.
I was looking at an ideal scenario in my head, the Habs ending the week with Dubois and Michcov. Can you imagine how nice that would have been?
