Game misconduct on Pas for that? I mean I know classic IIHF reffing but still, even I as a one-eyed GB fan think that's somewhat harsh,

3-2 14 minutes to go, Poland lucky it's still a contest in some senses but keep conceding penalties and eventually you'll get punished, two especially daft ones in P3 so far.

Update: feel like the nerves are stering to play a part now with the winning line approaching for GB, suddenly now much more of an even battle on the ice.

Horrible penalty to take at this point....

Closer ref not having his arm up also somewhat comedic.

Was literally writing that the Poles likely cost themselves at least a point with that last-minute penalty, but then they go and score to tie it again.

Can't really put that down to much else than a mental breakdown from GB, psychology of the game began to turn after Poland's PP goal.

Who knows what'll happen in OT

probably a fair result at the end of the game but yeah feel for Poland to lose it like that after that third period fightback.

Italy v Poland is looking absolutely mouthwatering now though, Poles can definitely take a lot of heart from (parts of) their showing and they're definitely not out of the promotion race.

Italy - Korea R very sleepy so far. Not the best game by the Italians but hasn't needed to have been, feels like the Koreans could play for hours and hours and never score... relegation looming for them?

I don't know, their game hasn't been hopeless in all aspects even though they're yet to score in the tournament. Score a couple against Lithuania or Romania and it can still be all good.

good Div1 tournament so far, China didn't get promoted and more importantly, now there are Škodas behind the glass in 1B too :thumbu:

Super weird game between Britain and Poland.

To a certain extent, Britain deserved to win the game on balance of play through the first two periods. Then they couldn't deal with Poland's pushback in the third (bad trend for this team that was evident at last year's WC in games against Austria, Latvia), threw away the game, and essentially get handed the win due to a terrible call in OT.

I think the 5+game for Pas was fair. I'm not sure why Kalaber was complaining about the Pasiut penalty towards the end of the third (note: I don't think that O'Connor should have got called for his minor that Poland scored on).

Have to feel for Poland though. In 2018 against Great Britain, they lost due to going on a very dubious 5 on 3 in the third period. Now this call against Murray.

I don't know what's up with this British side though. They've moved away from simple hockey and are trying to massively overcomplicate things. I'm not sure if they came down thinking that this tournament would be a laugher, and that they're considerably better than the other teams bar Italy. The entire "success" of the British team since 2018 has been based on simple, clinical attacking play, usually on the rush. Now they're trying to pull off things that players with far greater talent than them wouldn't be able to do.

Well we can't score or play for hours.. I think Korea has looked better so far. In a way, I would go as far as saying we deserve to get relegated unless something changes.
