Mich- wait actually Reinbacher.

People seem a bit confused by this ranking. It shouldn't be the most NHL-ready, but the one with the most value, so the one who's likely to be ultimately the best player. In that sense, Reinbacher should be an automatic No. 1, considering that all the others are much later picks, despite their fine progress since then. Yes, Hutson looks promising, but at no time he should be ranked ahead of Reinbacher at this moment, after he has just been taken 5th overall one week ago.

To add: Adam Engstrom
Reinbacher is without a doubt the most NHL ready of all prospects, even moreso than Slaf.

I’ll go with the Reinman. Has all the tools to be an excellent all around defenseman for the foreseeable future.

I agree if we are only talking about playstyle but he is very weak for his size and still very much has a typical teenage body. I think Owen Beck and Heineman are the players who could slide into the lineup seamlessly more so than any of the other prospects. I do not think that Beck makes the team as there are too many forwards and I would prefer to see him play a more offensive role in the OHL and work on his stick handling.

Probably. He's only 7 months older than the third overall pick - Fantilli - and had what I would argue to be an almost equally impressive freshman NCAA season.
Does he go top 5 in 2022?

Its tough to argue for Hutson vs Cooley, Fantilli, etc.

Then you realize hes fighting an uphill battle being 5'9 140 lbs and not a good skater...?

Hutson has a higher potential. He has the talent to become the next Makar/Fox/Hughes.
With what he's shown this past season, I think there's a decent chance he hits his ceiling.

Hutson has the sexier ceiling. Reinbacher just seems to have the more complete toolset, though.

Ceiling for Hutson - nhl star
Floor for Huston - bottom pair PP specialist

Ceiling for reinbacher - top pair dman that plays all situations
Floor for reinbacher - middle pair dman that plays all situations.

I went with reinbacher, but it really comes down to how you weigh the ceiling and floor variables.

Where someone is drafted doesn't matter.

I went Reinbacher because I don't know how Hutson's game will translate. I don't know if he'll be able to defend well enough to be on the ice enough.

Also, I'm afraid he might get injured in a way that affects his offense. So much of his game is based on his quick fakes. If he starts getting injuries to his hips, groins or knees, he could lose a step. I really think it's important for him to develop physically more before he comes to the NHL, even if he's ready hockey-wise. Injury prevention is key.

Add Engstrom

You do a redraft of 2022, Hutson could easily be top5.

I went with Hutson because I believe in the kid, I saw a lot of Lane and he's special.

Reinbacher seems actually really good from what i've watch but it's mostly highlights and not full games. He's got the tools, he's got the brain, he can execute, he can skate and now you're probably asking why I didn't vote for David " we planned it this way " Reinbacher. Well, we didn't have the chance to see his worst, yet; What's he's real floor.

As for ceiling, we could have a Makar or Pietrangelo. Maybe both.

One thing is for sure, theses two are in a class of their own in our pool.

Even if he has the potential to become those players offensively, he has an uphill battle to be as good defensively, or even to be able to not be a defensive liability.

One thing that I like about Hutson is that he can create offense when the team is settled in the offensive zone 5 on 5, not just in transition.

If you guys think Hutson is a better prospect than Reinbacher, would you have picked him 5th overall this year?
If he was in this past draft, with his performance in the NCAA, I think he has a claim for top10 pick. Don’t you?
