Control the things you can control. Basic common sense thrown out the window the last week or so by the coach for continuing to play the player who was the first to be sick, then taking him along with the stars to Montreal for a meaningless game. Marchy and Bergy should have been resting regardless of the sickness on the team. Whatever. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. I still love Monthy and think the Bs will win round 1, but for f*** sake he needed to be smarter. The issues in the room today were largely avoidable had more caution been shown.

doesn`t the lineup decisions stem from cap stuff? Meaning the B`s can`t simply call up an infinite number of players and sit current NHL`ers. I`m not of the mindset that Monty wanted Bergy to play, my guess is that Marchand and Bergy have a say.

I don't think he would have needed to replace a ton of players at the time when the sickness began. As for Bergy and Marchy I am sure they told Monty they wanted to play. That's why back before the game I said that Monty needed to make an executive decision since he's the coach. The players would have understood.

Not to cause panic, my friends and I caught both the seasonal standard coronavirus AND influenza about a month ago during paddies because some idiot came in the bar sick. My mates lost 10-15lbs and we all developed some sort of pneumonia/bronchitis. Absolutely nasty crippled us. Hope that's not what's going around, but must consider it could play a factor

Absolutely.

I firmly believe the Bruins could rest Bergeron for the entire Florida series and still advance.

They’ll need him more for the second round - whomever that may be.
I totally agree....Give him as much rest as possible. But still get some practice in. What is lost though , a ton of face off wins, which no doubt is a major concern. Hopefully we can still win the majority with the centers we have.

"He was around all day and kind of talked to us before the game. He was watching here in the room. Obviously, such a presence," forward Jake DeBrusk said of Bergeron. "You can tell how bad he wants to be out there, and he can't wait to get back in the mix. It's one of those things where you can tell he's itching to get back, and it's one of those things that we take as a team, and it kind of gives you a boost seeing him around.

"We want to do it for him," added DeBrusk.
