I think its a bad matchup. if you remove the black and gold goggles you understand the Panthers are not a typical 8th seed. Theyll try to hit Pastrnak all series and your favorite pkayer Krejci will need to be 2011 like

Panthers have Gudas. Lomberg? Tkachuk is cheap but truly not physical as his brother is.

I agree with benching Gryz against Florida/Tampa but other opponents such as Toronto/NJ he would thrive as well. Florida is offense only... Bruins losing would be historically embarrassing, moreso than Tampa vs Columbus.

Just looking for a reason beyond injury for him to not be on the ice….
I would think the only way he would have stayed behind in Quebec would have been for a family emergency at this time in the season, but really what does he need to practice,I think he knows it all by now ,he has the same line mates, really all he needs is a pre-morning game skate, and he’s good to go.

If worse comes to worst, even if Bergeron were to miss the entire Florida series, the Bruins are still good enough to dispose of the Panthers without him. It’s not ideal, and would certainly be tougher, but the Bruins can do it. I’d rather have him healthier for the second round.

If it comes to that.

Not worried yet.

I'm going with Bergy stayed in Quebec to see family an extra day and Monty is playing psychological games with Florida. Marchand not feeling well, maybe caught what Nosek had. I'll stick with those thoughts until we know the facts.

Disclaimer: I have heard and know nothing.

Saw that FLA gave up more shots this season than Montreal and Anaheim. They've given up more shots than any playoff team. They've allowed more goals than any playoff team. Their D and goalies are not going to suddenly be magnificent. Their offense is good, but it will be facing the best goalie and D in the league. Of the wildcard teams, East and West, FLA is the weakest and easiest opponent for the Bs. Will be interesting to see if the Bs accelerate hard out of the gate given that they won 15 of their last 16 in cruise mode, or if they'll pace themselves in the first round.
