Pre-Game Talk: 2023 Draft Discussion

Askarov being shopped?

Would probably cost more than Arvidsson. Arvy +Tucotte/Spence/etc.
Seems like it may have just been in an attempt to move up to the top 5 that fell through. Guess it could change over the day tomorrow, in which case that would be an amazing add.

So you think with confidence that after years and years of making the same dumbass mistakes that NOW Blake has learned something? Ok.

Holy shit Bill Guerin… dude take care of yourself.
Past behavior is the main indicator of future behavior. It fits Blake to the tee.

Who said I specifically cared about what she said? The entire panel slobbers over everyone which then leads to every fan base overrating these kids because we can’t move so and so, he’s the next NHL superstar! These kids are being drafted, they 100% are going to enjoy their greatest moment forever whether the panel discussing the draft overrates them or not.
Come on dude, I said Kaplan but sub anyone’s name in there, same shit.

Half these kids are gonna bust, do you really think they need to look back on this moment and hear Kevin f***ing Weeks saying “this pick is a mistake, he can’t skate”?

Going out on Broadway afterwards.
Going to Tooitsie’s apparently. Bill Guiten trying to get everyone f***ed up and engineer some trades.

Worse, cat piss!

I didn’t say shit on them. But say I don’t like this pick. They should’ve gone defense over center. Something like that. Every single thing is candy coated.
They try to be more subtle. After all, these kids will likely only get drafted once. You don't want to subject them to hear "I don't like this pick" at what may end up being the peak of some of these kids' careers. These are their memories too.

If you check out their reactions of Simashev picks or Molendyk, you can tell they feel there were better picks.

I might prefer a big, mean, hitting machine with our first pick over a goalie. Getting Protillo helps the goalie side out and i'd prefer to get one in the 3rd or 4th round. Priority now is a big, bad kid that can actually skate & play in the NHL.

Rob Blake be like:

"Best I can do is bad."

Sort of seemed like it. She came across a bit to eager with throwing the stats around. Reminded me of the some of the ESPNU reporters. It was a really weird coverage by ESPN.
ESPN bringing in cheaper talent in cost cutting moves.
Who's the girl on the broadcast? Never heard of her before.
That's Meghan Chayka, older sister of former Coyotes GM John Chayka. Both are stats/analytics nerds.

One of the goalies would be lovely at pick at 54. Graycn Sawchyn just gives off Brayden Point vibes to me, Dvorak would also be nice.
I have an idea who Kings should draft today with few of their picks.
Because of salary cap situation LA is in now they should go for big and physical players who were not selected in prior drafts but ready to play now.
This should help physicality of the team without investing big money on it.
PS. If those players do not have much long-term potentials, it is fine with me.
