Im a fan of his, can’t go wrong with this group from the WHL.McKeen’s has Danielson at #8, which is the highest I’ve seen post-season start. I’m curious how much Detroit likes him, cause he reads like he’s basically a less rambunctious version of Kasper: mature, complete player, defensive responsibilities as a younger teammate, no major holes in his game, etc. but questions on the offensive upside. From what I’ve seen though, he doesn’t lack high-end offensive skill but he also doesn’t look to make those plays, and that could just be a product of his role on Brandon.
Super late answer to this but after having finally watched many prospects this season... the answer to this is Petter Vesterheim.I want my slightly undersized so often overlooked, shifty, pass-first, cerebral center who already plays defense at a high level. Someone tell me who that is
David Reinbacher has had a similar pre-draft trajectory to Seider. Playing top 4 minutes in the top Swiss league and doing well. His ceiling, especially offense, probably isn't as high as Seider's, but he's likely to transition to the NHL sooner than alot of prospects and projects to be a top 4 two-way guy. What position do you think SY targets with our pick in that range? C again ? any decent RHD projected in the top 12?
You really ticked the overlooked box because this is the first I'm hearing about this bloodborne npc.Super late answer to this but after having finally watched many prospects this season... the answer to this is Petter Vesterheim.
Crazy how Savoie was putting up similar numbers to these whl centers and was considered a top 10 pick, meanwhile these guys are all teens and 20s. Deep draft.Im a fan of his, can’t go wrong with this group from the WHL.
Almost mandatory at this point. Wouldn't be June without some chicken Littles screaming the sky is fallingTo continue our trend of drafting overagers from the USHL that piss people off, I could see us taking Cole Knuble in the mid-late rounds.
I assume Draper knows him? Done deal.To continue our trend of drafting overagers from the USHL that piss people off, I could see us taking Cole Knuble in the mid-late rounds.
Given that his dad is a coach in GR, I think that is a safe assumption. It is sad that the kid never acquired his dad's sizeI assume Draper knows him? Done deal.
Mike Knuble's 1st career game was March 26th 1997. Nothing noteworthy happened...Given that his dad is a coach in GR, I think that is a safe assumption. It is sad that the kid never acquired his dad's size
I don't understand why they do it on second round. Anyway why not get Mac Swanson insteadTo continue our trend of drafting overagers from the USHL that piss people off, I could see us taking Cole Knuble in the mid-late rounds.
That shot of Bedard's is incredible. If Kasper can just improve his shot, he will be so much more dangerous.Regina Pats vs. Calgary Hitman is on NHL network. Opportunity to watch Bedard a bit

As much as I disagree with some of his rankings his streams are good background noise and can tip me off on some hidden players. The only hockey I found for today

Yes, elite skater is a must as well. Personally I think it is really hard to be great offensively as an undersized blueliner without be a plus skater. I know there are a couple of exceptions, but guys like Fox are just that, an exception.I like that he is always trying to create. Like at 9:08 he actually gets a zone entry there and he drops it off and they play it to the corner and set up possession.
I think he tries risky stuff but I don't think he is dumb. Similar to Zegras in that way. I think he could be a good ying to Kasper's yang.
Geekie has been disappointing for me this year tbh. Thought he would get more PP ice time and put up more points. Will have to see how that plays out.
Smith has a lot of offensive ability. Think he is someone who could develop a lot in college.
And/or an elite skater.
I love Will and his wild takes. He clearly likes skill and is not afraid to rank those guys high. The only hockey I found for today

Encouraging news to see 6-7 centers in a top ten in February. Hopefully that's still the case in June, and Detroit can snag a good one.I've made some good progress since the turn of the new year scouting out this years draft. I've got 54 guys I've got at least one viewing on. Some I watched on streams, some I could only get in a shift by shift on youtube (thank god for the puck enthusiast on youtube this year). I've got a top 20 that I've seen at least three viewings each player that I've got confidence in and feel good presenting as a representation of the work I've done.
My February Top 20:
Honorable Mention: Jayden Perron, just barely missed the cut but Brindley's defensive game gave him the edge.

Yes. I like Moore's defensive game a ton more and Moore has much worse linemates (no disrespect to them). Moore is the fastest skater in the draft and similar to Larkin has enough above average skills to complement the speed to make him a dangerous offensive creator.Do you think Moore ahead of Smith? With Russian factor maybe we could get But on second round
It's been rough seeing all the possible centers in recent years turn into wingers by January. This is a nice breath of fresh air.Encouraging news to see 6-7 centers in a top ten in February. Hopefully that's still the case in June, and Detroit can snag a good one.

Hey man, you can't just leak the rest of my list while I'm still working on itVery good list. I’ve been trying to sneak in as many viewings of the USNTDP and WHL kids as I can and I’m mostly in agreement with your rankings.
I’d sneak in Gabe Perrault and Charlie Stramel. If the wings can get another 1st in the 17-24 range I take a chance on one of those guys.
To me, Perrault’s game is similar to Peterka’s but with slightly better stickhandling. The fact that he’s raked outside of the top 20 in this year’s draft is a testiment to how deep this draft is.
Stramel is very raw and his counting stays don’t match the eye test when I see him. On the one hand I think he can be that big,
physical checking line center that Holland seemed to mine for in every draft. On the other hand he will flash some exceptional skill that makes me think top 6 upside. He’s a big project pick for sure.
Calum Ritchie is also intriguing but his production also doesn’t match the eye test.
Otto Stennberg and Noah Dower-Nilsson are the two guys from Sweden I see ranked in the 2nd round a lot but I think they’ll provide 1st round value.
