I would hope they would be smart enough to run up to the podium for Michkov in that case...Even without Bedard, the pro tank crowd should be very happy with the potential of this draft.
If Detroit lucks out and wins one of the lotto picks they'll probably pick 2 or 3 and get Fantilli or Carlsson. Those guys are Eichel and Barkov level talents (as far as modern comparables I can think of).
Even without a lotto win Detroit will get a crack at someone that could be a real gamer. The only thing Detroit needs to do is avoid doing what Boston did in 2015 by passing over the obvious picks like Kyle O'Connor, Chabot and Barzal.

You just love random Euro's.. looking forward to you hating the WHL kid we draft this year.Sleeping on Reinbacher just like you slept on Kasper. Some people never learn…
The one playing for the Pats, right? You just love random Euro's.. looking forward to you hating the WHL kid we draft this year.
I left that ambiguous for a reasonThe one playing for the Pats, right?

If you want to say he should be rated in the teens instead of the 20's, then OK.I’ve only hated one of our WHL picks in the last 3 drafts. Well, 2 I think…
As for Reinbacher? He’s not just a random euro with a cool hockey name. He’s an excellent all-directions skater that just seems to be in the right place at the right time. Physical, smart, great skater, solid first pass. He’s kind of like a Graves or Marino or even a Pulock. Maybe he develops his offense and becomes like Dobson?
I don’t think he’ll put up a ton of points but will be very important to overall his team’s success.
There are a few forwards I definitely draft before him in the teens, but this kid looks like he’s gonna be realgud.

But not really spending much time on him because I think we are set on RD and there aren't any other notable prospects playing in his league.
The first 12 or 13 forwards I listed I would take over any of the defenseman I have seen available in this draft.
Lol, just figured he might like to weigh in.Bringing Jaster the disaster as your backup?

I do agree with your original post that Reinbacher could be better than I am aware of. I feel the same about some of the Russians in this draft.
It is interesting to me that Dower Nilsson is piling up points but not really cracking anyone's top 15 or 20. I don't know what to make of that. I saw some of that Unger Sorum kid at the WJAC and I thought he looked really good. That could be your under the radar Euro gem, maybe.
Now that's a name I've not heard in a.... few weeks. A few weeks.Bringing Jaster the disaster as your backup?
Wait, what's going on in here? Drafting RHD because we're trading Hronek?
Draft Reinbacher. Trade Hronek for Horvat. Bring up Edvinsson. Play a defenseman on their off-side to drive you crazy.
I feel like the WHL is not getting enough credit for the talent it pumps out, and I would love for this team to get in on that action a little bit more.
This is a really good solid year for the WHL. It took me a while to get to watching, but there are a couple of really good first round options beyond Bedard worth considering in the middle third of the first. As we get further from the COVID shut down, I expect to see more formful classes from the CHL. Danielson and Honzek both deserve more love than they have been getting.I feel like the WHL is not getting enough credit for the talent it pumps out, and I would love for this team to get in on that action a little bit more.
